Dr. Gita Rupani, MD

Gita Rupani, M.D. provides comprehensive medical and interventional pain management to help patients conquer the limitations caused by pain. She believes compassion is an integral part of pain management. Dr. Rupani is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. She was an assistant professor at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She has a strong interest in management of acute postoperative and chronic pain using continuous regional anesthesia and was first to introduce it at the Medical Center. In 1990, Dr. Rupani founded the pain management team at the University of Chicago, and was involved in several pain management committees. She has mentored several students, residents and fellows. Additionally, she has authored and co-authored book chapters and award-winning presentations at regional and national meetings.
