Dr. Giuseppe Erba, MD

Dr. Erba was my neurologist while i was in college in Boston, from 1976 to 1980. He was a phenomenal doctor ; always calling me at college to make sure new medicines were doing their jobs and checking on just how i was. He was able to determine my seizures were coming from my temporal lobe, and in 1979 suggested I have a temporal lobectomy. I wanted to finish school, so declined. He said "I predict you will get worse and I will see you back here for the surgery within 5 years. He was right, and in Sept of 1983 I had my right temporal lobe removed. He was a phenomenal doctor and taught me many things besides just seizures. Most importantly he showed me ways to evaluate other doctors "so you will know within 15 minutes of meeting him whether you can work with him or not". That lesson has served me well over the ensuing 30 years. Unfortunately I was in a car accident in 1987 and was on life support for 3 weeks. Minor seizures have come back as a result of the accident, but thanks to Dr… Erba's training, they pose no problem to my quality of life. He showed me how to live life to the fullest despite seizures, and that is what I am doing now. I am married, have 2 adult daughters, and teach English as a Second Language. I will never forget him or his lovely wife .
