Dr. Estes treated my wife for about five years. During that time she was more functional than at any other time in her life. He had an uncanny ability to know exactly what meds would stabilize her, restore her cognition and emotional health, etc. He was always very courteous and helpful and willing to explain to her family what was going on in a manner we could understand. This is a critical characteristic for any doctor -- more doctors need to understand that the family suffers too. The only reason I gave him lower ratings on the ease of appointments and promptness are because he works with Capital Area Human Services and the state employees do all the appointments and scheduling. These things are beyond his control, but the State of Louisiana could manage its services better than it does. Dr. Estes is a phenomenal doctor and as long as you are not experiencing an emergency he is well-worth the wait.
