Dr. Glenn Scott Gerber, MD

I recently had a biopsy performed on my prostate. Dr. Gerber himself came and got me from the waiting area. He then took me to a private room and explained the procedure to me and what to expect before and after. He performed the biopsy and spoke to me the entire time putting me at ease. The pain was minimal. Very personable. Highly Highly recommended.

I made an appointment with Dr. Gerber to get a 2nd opinion. My Urologist is excellent and I have no loss of confidence in her, I just believe in getting 2nd opinions. Like many others, I was impressed with Dr. Gerber's credentials. However, after reading the reviews I emailed Dr. Gerber to be sure I was not going to be seeing an intern. I explained my situation to him and said that I was ok if an intern sat in quietly but I did not want to be diagnosed by an intern. His reply shocked me: "if you are happy with your present urologist perhaps you should stay with them". I cancelled my appointment right away. Just an FYI, regardless of the details I wrote, his answers were 4 - 8 word responses and often never addressed my concerns. It showed that he was not very interested in me and was more interested in giving his interns experience. I am quite certain had I not cancelled, I would have been seeing an intern and if I saw Dr. Gerber at all, it would have been very brief. What a… disappointment.

Glenn Gerber MD is no good. It was promised he would be the one to examine me. instead he sent a young female resident to embarrass and humiliate me..

Dr. Gerber may be an excellent reseacher, professor and a proficient publisher, but he is a very poor doctor. Rather than spending time with a patient, he leaves the leg-work to his resident and comes in to lecture his patient for a few minutes rather than really figure out what's wrong. I did find a urologist who ruled out "Dr. Gerber's resident's diagnosis" and figure out what was wrong. Shame on Dr. Gerber. Shouldn't the real job of a doctor be to diagnose his patient rather than just go through the motions? I truly believe Dr. Gerber needs to re-evaluate why he became a doctor.
