Dr. Glenn Douglas Madokoro, MD

My husband was a patient of Dr Madokoro's. He had UC and yet the Doctor did not encourage him to get in immediately for a colonoscopy. Time went by and by the time my husband did get in, he was diagnosed with cancer. Dr M was the one to deliver the news. He came across as being very insensitive. Ultimately, my husband died only 7 months afterward. I can't help but think how things could have perhaps gone differently if Dr M had just gotten my husband in sooner for his colonoscopy. I would not recommend Dr M as I feel like he dropped the ball.

Dr Madokoro is a true example of what medicine should be. He is extremely meticulous in his work, excellent bed side manner, and a true gentlemen. He did a colonoscopy for my father, and I had one done from him also. Being a doctor myself, I can truly appreciate his dedication to his patients and his approach of patient first. If you need a gastroenterologist, this is the doctor you want to see.

You only do these tests a few times in your life and they are important. Go to the best and Dr. Madokoro is the best. My procedure took 37 mins and I had no Polyps to remove. The average Dr. spends 6mins!!! You decide...

I was in the ER on a Tuesday when a CT scan showed a apple core "Lesion" in my colon, they called Dr. Modokoro because I had used him for a routine colonoscopy 4 years earlier and he was great! He said for the ER to send me over immediately and had me in for a colonoscopy two days later. He is alway very informative, takes his time explaining everything to you and always makes me feel at ease. The results showed no lesion or polyp at all, a possible error on the CT. Either way Dr. Modokoro will always be my GI doctor. 5 stars!!

I just had my first colonoscopy. Dr. Madakoro was great! He spent lots of time explaining the process to me and all the alternatives available. The prep was much better than what my husband endured. Dr. Madakoro was VERY thorough and detail oriented. The report I received was meticulous and had 4 pages of pictures. My husband's doctor took 3 pictures when he had his procedure. The Hoad Hospital staff were very friendly and clearly had great respect for Dr. Madakoro. I had two polyps removed and I felt fine the next day. I would highly recommend him to anybody who wants quality care! My husband is switching to him after seeing the difference in treatment and the reports/results I received from Dr. Madakoro.

Dr. Madokoro is wonderful. He spent an hour with me explaining colonoscopies and what to expect, and he answered all of my questions. He spends an average of 20 mins. doing the scoping, whereas some board certified docs only spend one minute! So the likelihood of him finding any problems is much higher, and prevention is the key.

Had very first colonoscopy yesterday by Dr. Madokoro.Followed the Magnesium Citrate prep day before. This prep was so easy! Drank 2 10oz bottles cherry Mag Citrate + 4 10mg Ducolax tabs + 60 oz of orange Gatorade + over course of 5 hours & prep was done! Allowed Jello, chicken broth, coffee & tea. Dr. Madokoro was very friendly and informative during my initial office consult. Spent a lot of time explaining everything. His office staff was very kind and efficient. Day of my procedure everything went very smoothly and staff at Hoag Hospital put me at ease. Staff had very good things to say about Dr. Madokoro. After procedure was done and I was awake, Dr. Madokoro was very thorough going over the results which include a report with photos. Everything went very well and he removed 4 very small benign polyps. Dr. Madokoro spends more time examining the colon than most Dr's. This was my first experience having this kind of procedure and he made me feel extremely comfortable. He has a very… kind manner and I highly recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Madokoro is always kind, patient and polite with me I would highly recommend him as a doctor to anyone looking for a good GI doctor.

He spent more time with me than any other doctor I have ever met. He was kind and caring and explained everything in plain language. When he did my colonoscopy, my report was amazingly thorough and he found the cause of my illness that another doctor had missed.

3 other doctors missed my intestinal tumor located high up in my colon. It was large; he found it and removed it without surgery by making two smaller polectomies instead of one invasive surgery. Intelligent and attitude- 5 stars.
