Dr. Glenn Richard Scheive, MD

I want to start off that Dr Boyer is a wonderful oral surgeon. He is kind and patient with any questions you may have. I highly recommend him. His partner, Dr Glenn Schieve is another story. Go to him if you want someone who is condescending and a jerk. If you want for nitrous oxide, don’t bother. Not sure what the deal is, but there is no effect from what he administers. Don’t expect any topical numbing meds before he sticks the needle into various areas of your mouth, because he doesn’t use it. Also, don’t expect enough novocaine to be used, because he is either too cheap or a sadist (which I lean towards the latter). If you want to be yelled at because you can’t open your mouth wide enough for him (like your a petulant child), he’s your guy. I will be reporting him to the ADA and tell everyone I know about my experience. If you don’t like your job, then get out of the business! He has no right to treat people as disrespectful as he does. I personally let him… know. I want to save others from the same experience.

After the usual hassle of getting the insurance company (BCBS) to approve the procedure of my daugther, Dr. Schieve called to inform me that I would personally have to pay him an additional $6,000.00 in order for him to complete the procedure. Yes, I kept the voicemail to prove it. Of course he has an agreement with the insurance company on what he can charge for any procedure, but that didn't stop him from extorting addition money from a dad who he knew wasn't going to deny surgery for my daughter. Karma will hash this out, but hope my review will stop someone else from making the mistake of seeing this crook.

I paid for the extraction and insurance covered a portion of it too, and they still billed me for the full amount. They also bill "misc." charges that even insurance didn't know what it was for. They billed for the tooth being impacted when it wasn't. Extremely dishonest and unethical….STAY FAR AWAY!

I came in for a consultation for my daughter's wisdom teeth in the Bloomingdale office. The receptionist was so rude, they were so busy that day. The waiting room was packed. The receptionist acted like we are bothering her. She gave us the paperwork and closed the glass window. We waited for almost an hour. The office is so outdated. Dr. Scheive checked my daughter's mouth without gloves just a mirror. He sounded like he was in a bad mood. The rude receptionist was such in a hurry and proceeds to tell me that if we are not sure When to schedule just give them a call. She gave me the impression that "I don't have time to sit with you and figure out your availability lady" just call us back. I asked her name and she said Cathy. Is this the person you put upfront to make the first impression. She doesn't have any business or what so ever to work as a receptionist. Very rude!!!!!!! We didn't go back to that place. We found another Oral Surgeon. They were the opposite. Very accommodating,… nice office, the girls upfront were so nice.

He seriously cannot do anything right. If you have surgery done by him, you'll be in the worst pain you can possibly imagine. He's rude. Even said Im "over reacting" becuase I nearly bled to death in the ER after one of his surgeries.
