Dr. Gobivenkata Balaji, MD

First, this doctor canceled my husband's original appointment after making him wait for two hours in the office, only to be sent home without being seen. He was then rescheduled for an appointment 10 days later. Second, during the rescheduled visit, the doctor kept us waiting for another two hours. When the doctor finally entered the room, my husband politely said, "Doctor, I didn't expect to wait this long." Instead of responding respectfully, the doctor replied, "You have two options in two minutes: You stay or you leave. I'm going to get some water. Naturally, we decided to leave.

I visited Dr Balaji's office twice. First time I waited for 90 minutes after my appointment time, and then was told that it would be another 90 minutes at least. I left and rescheduled for 2 weeks later. My wife accompanied me 2nd time. At that visit again I waited 60 minutes before being called to the back examination room and then another 30 minutes before he appeared. I mentioned that I was not feeling well and that we had waited 90 minutes. To my surprise he reacted very rudely and impatient. he basically said , and I quote " you can have a doctor who will listen to your concerns, or you can have a doctor on time!. He also gave us an ultimatum. He said: " I will go and have a drink of water, you have two minutes to decide if you want to stay or leave, and I can cancel the visit". That type of response was completely unnecessary and rude. I could understand if apologized for the delay and told us that he was running late because of a detailed or complicated case earlier. We LEFT.

I am a new patient of Dr. Balaji. He accepted my case immediately from Urgent Care, then spent hours arranging my hospitalization, tests, and consultations with specialists. Throughout my experience with Dr. Balaji, he has consistently been professional, kind, and compassionate. His staff is also excellent--very caring,helpful, and considerate. I cannot rate Dr. Balaji's practice highly enough, and I fully recommend it without reservation.

Have seen Dr. Balagi for over 4 years now. He originally seemed to care about my health but over time it became more about how many very unnecessary tests I could be sent for (Medicare cash cow). Not one test ever showed positive for anything! And I went for many! Refills are only done phone call repeats. Banker hours on Fridays, if your lab work comes in and they’re too lazy to contact you no meds are called in or anything done until late Monday. PA’s are not sure most times on what to do so obvious move is more lab work or more tests! Surprise! I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to finally find another reputable physician who wants to treat me for what is truly wrong and help me stay healthy and not enrich them.

Dr. Balaji is one of the best doctors that our family has been affiliated with. He has saved my husbands life several times. He cares about his patients. Dr. Balaji is a wonderful professional with a heart of gold. Thank you Dr. Balaji for all you have done to help our family.

I wish I could give a zero star rating for my experiences here. Dr Balaji only cares about making money off you via their copay, not about you as a patient. I had to reschedule an appointment due to work. I gave them months notice when I rescheduled. It was not a last minute cancellation. But, my blood pressure medication, that I have been on for 7 years, ran out before my rescheduled appointment. After I asked for a refill, he refused to refill my prescription until after my appointment and after I came in and paid their copay. And that particular medicine causes a significant spike in blood pressure if you go off it cold turkey. So I had to scramble to make an appointment with a new primary care physician so that I wouldn’t be in danger of a blood pressure incident. I have never had a physician put me in danger like that for money. I wasn’t asking for a controlled substance or a narcotic, just a refill for my blood pressure medication. But since they hadn’t yet… squeezed the cash out of me, they held my medication hostage at risk to my own health. Additionally, I have immediate family who have have had similar circumstances with this office. Beware, you’re just a source of a cash to them, not someone to be cared for. Due to this terrible experience this year, I switched to a new primary care physician with whom I have had an excellent experience.

I have been see Dr. Balaji for 3 years and he is the best doctor I have seen in the years of seeing a doctor. He is thorough. When I first came to see him my blood pressure He h was running 150/90 and higher I was on over 20 different medications. He has reduce my dependent on medeications and now my blood presure is running 106/70 and 122,72 I recomend him to anyone. His staff is very courteous if they are not He said rerport them to him.

I first met Dr.Balaji when I was in Sea Pines Rehabilitation. He was very thorough. After my stay at Sea Pines I followed through with him and his staff. This was in 2017. He was the only one that saw me through some very difficult times. Sent me to see many other specialists and he followed through with them for my care. I am happy to say I made it through the difficult times. I am grateful for him and his staff for the care they gave me. Thank you Dr. Balaji for being my doctor...

Dr. Balaji is one of the most caring doctors I have ever known. He explains everything and listens closely to the patient’s concerns.
