Goldie Alissandratos

"This is a long message but unfortunately all the information matters. After coming recommended by my case manager I was unfortunately very disappointed with my initial interaction with Goldie. I arrived for my appointment early knowing there would be a lot of paper work as a first time patient and workman's comp case. I am always prepared with everything in my phone due to having many injuries and multiple surgeries because of a construction accident a few years ago and I want to be sure of all dates and case information. Before I had an opportunity to say hello I was greeted at a hall door by a woman whom I couldn't believe was the medical professional that was supposed to see me that day. She called me over by name and as I was approached to go in I was stopped in my tracks. She immediately said hello and preceded speaking "I can't see you today, you haven't been verified, I need to know if your case is still active, there is no information in the computer. It happened so fast i was… barely able to respond. I asked what she meant, she said well we need your case number, i need your adjusters name and contact information and I don't even know why you're here. Why aren't you seeing your past pain management Dr. I said i have all of that information. I actually gave it all in as soon as i arrived and my care coordinator through workman's comp made this appointment so it would have had to be verified. Her response was well we don't have it here and we don't have the time to verify so i cant see you. This was 12:00pm.. When I explained that I had everything that she asked for and it was in the system, she went to check and verified it was all there. But, proceeded to give me other reasons that I would not be seen for my initial appt. including not having medical records. She asked who my surgeons were and if they had a pain management Dr there facility "because we just don't see people without having certain information" I completely understand how things work, needing prior information is not foreign to me. But, I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. She was loud, aggressive in how she spoke and there was a complete lack of regard for my privacy. I could see her taking this same few minutes to speak to me behind closed doors but to ask me these questions while standing in a doorway one foot in and out with a waiting room full of people was completely unprofessional. I was lost. She told me once verified her office would call me to set up an appt, but didn't wait. I immediately got on the phone with my workman's comp dept, and they were just as confused as me considering when they make the appointments they send over all needed information to the medical facility. I was asked to please find out who I was speaking to at which point a staff member asked her to come to the front. I was able to confirm it was Goldie. At this point I was floored. I've sometimes seen nurses have a bad day and be short or even a front desk person, but never the main medical staff. When given the opportunity to speak to her and have my bearings her tone was very different. She seemed to want to explain more and demand less. But this didn't take away from my initial interaction. Not to mention my adjuster called and was told "they didn't see a reason why I wasn't seen." Bed side manner is a big deal. I was asked if i wanted to see another at the facility.. but if this is the norm at West Med/Summit Health someone else can have the spot. The only person that was apologetic was the front desk person, she even gave me other cards. But, no thanks they're in the trash."
