Dr. Gonzalo Ivar Hidalgo, MD

Was very satisfied with Dr Hidalgo but office has poor phone system. Was instructed to call office for follow-up visit. Entire System is automated. Been waiting 2 days to schedule follow-up appointment.

Don’t plan on seeing him when you go to your appointment but plan on paying your co-pay for his nurse to ask you how you are and tell you “make another appointment for *insert number* weeks” and then repeat. This office is a joke and just wants your money for literally not working.

I would have put -0 but it wouldn't let me.My cardiologist put me in the hosiptal cause I had a cva(stroke) from a fib and my heart pause for a long time Over a week later my symptoms got worse and was told to go back in the hosiptal. Well Dr. Hidalgo shows my husband and I a video and told us it made a chemical imbalance in my brain that's why I couldn't speak correctly and still had numbness. So the plan was to stay on medication he would prescribe and it would help the imbalance. It wouldn't cure me but it would help a little besides getting worse. When I was discharge he told us everything was fine and he never said that at all. As far as his Np(Kim) she told my husband, daughter and I that it wasn't a stroke I had over a week ago that it was a severe migraine I had and that's why I still couldn't talk over a week and having all the side of my face paralyzed and also stroke weren't painful or would leave you with pain. She even talked about sending a psychiatrists in my room cause… I told her she was crazy that a migraine would do that . I know it was hard for her to understand me the way I was talking, but gosh as being neurologist neither one even check my eyes for any swellness. That the first thing a neurologist does. Wanting to see me back in 2 weeks I told the hosiptal if he can't remember what he said the minute he walk out my room he surely not going to remember me or anything about me in 2 weeks.

Dr. Hidalgo took time to explain my illness with me and even ask me several times did I understand since his accent is a little hard to understand at times. I never felt like he was rushed to get me in and out. I will continue to use him and suggest him to others.

Even though he is very busy and popular. He took his time to explain my problem. He does prescribe narcotic, but he can help you with other medications

Should not be in the profession

Cannot recommend this guy at all. Went there with my wife who has epilepsy. He runs his office like a fast food line, does not take the time to address the patient's needs. She saw him over a period of a year or so and each time he acted like he didn't know her. Not a good doctor.

Oh please. Don't believe the bad reviews. Dr. Hidalgo is a good doctor and he has helped me greatly. He has a slight accent, so if you have problems with the language portion of the brain maybe you could have an issue. I understood 99% of what he said the first time he said it. He does not write narcotic prescriptions and there is a sign in his office stating this, so drug seekers-- go elsewhere, he's not your guy. I recommend Dr. Hildago.

I didn't even want to give him "one star" but I couldn't submit my reveiw with it being blank. He spent more time talking to the medical student than talking to me. It's me having issues, I'm the patient, I'm a new patient at that. He made me completely uncomfortable, brushed off my symptons, to continue discussing the reasons he asked me the questions he did. He stated, "It isn't that we care whether or not they do things. It's whether or not they have a 'want to do' them." Really?! I'm not dumb, I know most dr's aren't actually interested in our personal lives, but that's a comment you should've saved for a discussion outside of the room. Not while sitting 6 inches from my face. His nurse practitioner first comes across as a sweet lady. After being in the room with her and her snarley comments, giggles about issues, intense "you're $h!t & I'm too good to sit here and talk to you" vibe, she can also eat a D!cK right along with Dr Hidalgo. Also, you'll need a translator. Dr talk is one… thing, Dr talk in Spanish is a whole other world. On the plus side, the male that does vitals was very friendly, as was "Kim" that takes payments. There was one other lady in the office that was somewhat friendly. One, was screaming at a patient on the phone when I walked in. I'm just saying, it was all down hill from there.

Long wait for nothing. He just ordered an expensive test. No appropriate reason given. It had nothing to do with why I was there. At the end of the visit, I found out that he couldn't write a prescription for ANYTHING at all. No muscle relaxer. Nothing for pain. Nothing for sleep. Not even a prescription for cold medication. What gives? Even if he had seen me in the hospital, he still couldn't write a prescription. Is this guy really board certified? Has anyone checked this out recently?
