Dr. Gopi Chandra Kasturi, MD

Make sure you ask for a copy of his report. After reading the report from my visit I didn't know if I should laugh or get upset. The amount of misleading statements, wrong information and actual FALSE statements by the Dr. is a major cause for concern. The most flagrant false statement is the musculoskeletal exam information that included 16 sentences never happened because he NEVER DID ONE. The only time he touched me was to shake my hand hello and good-by. He only actually looked at me for approximately 15 seconds total since he was looking at his computer the majority of the time I was with him (approximately 8 minutes). I am very disturbed after reading my report and will be forwarding a copy of it along with my comments to my insurance companies in the hopes that this Dr. will get audited. His staff was friendly and polite which is more than I can say about him.

Dr. Kasturi is very compassionate. I had a lot of questions at our initial consultation. He patiently answered all my questions. Over time, I have developed a great deal of trust in him. I have complete confidence in his abilities as a doctor. He is very competent and I know that I can get better under his care.

My first visit with this Dr., he began speaking about his fear of being sued by patients. My experience as a patient was that this Dr. would not do peer reviews with Work Comp. ,I am not aware of any time he has ever called work comp in my behalf to justify his requests for procedures, I am not aware of him taking any call from work comp regarding requests for procedures, I was denied most requests for treatment he recommended, then the doctor kicked me to the curb because work comp denied treatment. My feeling is that this doctor will not follow work comp procedure of discussing work comp cases to justify requests for treatment, so he has been a very poor selection for a physiatrist for my situation. My personal experience as a patient was that he spent very little time discussing my physical well being. My experience was that he would sometimes treat me rudely. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. It has been a terrible experience for me. If I had not been a work… comp patient I would have never selected this doctor in the first place. I have been a compliant patient. He was on my list of approved providers.

I have been taking my mother to Dr. Kasturi for more than a year now. He is very knowledgable. My mother does not have a lot of medical knowledge. Dr. Kasturi has taken the time to answer all her questions. We are very happy with the progress she has made. She does not use her walker anymore.Our family is very grateful to this doctor.

I am surprised to see some of the negative reviews on this doctor. He is one of the most kind and compassionate physicians I have ever encountered. He accurately diagnosed and promptly treated my chronic condition that was become unbearable. What I like about this doctor is that he does not believe in "drugging" you up with pain medications. He believes in accurately diagnosing and treating the problem. The best part is, he counselled me on ways to prevent recurrence and re injury. Probably those who are only interested in seeking pain medications in high doses do not like his pragmatic approach, but if you want to truly get better instead of masking your pain, this is the right doctor for you....

Stay away from this man - he shouldn't call himself a doctor, because he is completely incompetent. He doesn't listen, he is inconsistent in what he says and if he can't do something in the simplest way, he dumps you as a patient with no help what so ever in what to do next. He is awful!!!!

This doctor thinks he's a big shot! He didn't even spend time reviewing my MRIs or explained to me what he diagnosed me with. He didn't want to hear what I had to say. i would stay away from this incompetent pain doctor.

Dr. Kasturi is an effective and to-the-point professional He asked many questions to understand my concerns, to determine status and to move to next steps. I like this methodical approach and big picture analysis. Although a busy man, we've spent sufficient time on points of interest. I recognize that his time is precious and am not concerned about appraising him for bedside manners. As a man who grew up in the NYC metro area, I appreciate his straightforwardness.
