Dr. Gordon H. Baltuch, MD, PhD

I had a MRI Focused Ultrasound for Parkinson's Tremor procedure performed August 22, 2024 at NY Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Hospital. WOW! it went very well. Tremors much reduced and I am walking much better. Dr Baltuch and team were professional, and kind. I highly recommend.

Incredibly successful! MRI Focused Ultrasound for Essential Tremor procedure performed June, '23 at NY Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Hospital. At 87 years of age, the quality of my life has improved dramatically. Thanks to Gordon Baltuch and the "focused ultrasound procedure" he performed, I am able to write, eat, put on makeup and execute other targeted tasks that I haven't been able to perform in over 30 years. This procedure should be on the front page of every medical journal, along with Gordon Baltuch and his skill as the neurosurgeon to perform this innovative procedure. Bravo Dr. Baltuch. You are "my hero."

Dr. Baltuch did a DBS procedure on me in May 2022. This is brain surgery, so I had lots of questions for him and his team. They were patient and thorough in giving answers, so I felt confident in my decision to proceed. Dr. Baltuch has done more than 1,500 DBS procedures, so he has more experience in DBS than any other neurosurgeon I could find. My procedure went well (no complications) and I am very satisfied with the results. I would recommend him highly to any Parkinson's patient considering DBS.

After complications from an armed robbery I was referred to Dr. Baltuch for an adnormal MRI in 2004. I was admitted and many tests run including a psych evaluation to see if I was suited for surgery. Within 2 months of many tests I was approved and had the sirgery to repair damage that occured! Dr. Baltuch was very professional and was accurate with diagnosis and treatment! Totally Free of medication these days! Dr. Baltuch is an Excellent and extremely knowledgable Neurosurgeon! When I did have trouble with in a year he immediately got a hospital room and ran more tests. No further treatment was necessary!

Similar bad story here. Dr Baltuch did a DBS surgery on my father and then went on spring break. He created a brain bleed during the surgery and this went unnoticed afterward as he went on vacation. The brain bleed caused a stroke and my father lost the ability to speak and swallow. They put in a feeding tube against his medical directive. When Dr Baltuch got back from vacation he referred to my father as a "Salvage Case". I went out for lobster dinner with my dad the night before his surgery and he was far from salvage status. Another Parkinsons specialist saw my dad during his recovery and said that DBS was not the right option. Dr Baltuch only cares about how many surgeries he does. Quantity definitely does not equal quality.

Dr. Baltuch performed major surgery on my wife , Mary 15 years ago .she had a major bleeding seizure , and spent approximately 6 hours in surgery We were told that her chances of survival were 5% . DR Baltuch and his team did the impossible , and saved Mary's life . We will never forget you Dr.Thank you so much .Five stars?No ,10 stars .

He was my surgeon when I had my left loboctomy in 2014 and he truely saved me. Choose him, you'll never regret it.

I have been asked by Margard E. Brown, an 88 year old patient of Dr. Baltuch, to write this review. Prior to her surgery on 2/22/14 Mrs Brown could not walk and was in terrible pain. Thanks to Dr. Baltuch, Nurse Practitioner Hanane Chaibainou and Bernadette and his entire staff, Mrs. Brown can now walk and is almost pain free.

Just had the VNS installed to help with my seizures. Surgery went perfect. He even went out before, and after my surgery to let me family know all was good and there was no problems. He talked to me before the surgery and after when I was able. Its only a couple days after surgery, but I feel much better than I ever expected. Top doc in Philly.

I went to Dr. Baltuch in 05 under the impression I needed surgery on my spine. He quickly noticed I was miss-diagnosed and fixed the problem within a few weeks (2 at the most) he really is excellent at what he does. His bedside manner is well above and beyond any Dr/Surgeon I have ever met. And he genuinely cares for his patients. He stopped in every day I was in the hospital to check on me along with his staff. I really cannot say enough good things about him.
