I MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

He did not exhaust all possibilities of saving my relative's limb. A conscientious doctor would have been more worried about how to save a limb and the psychological pain that goes along with this loss than about the money to be made on removing first a toe, then a foot, then a leg, and all surgeries within a few weeks of each other. There was no consideration of long-term (or even short-term) IV antibiotics, as most doctors use when amputations are involved. There was no caution, no restraint, and no compassion with Dr. Birk. The final hasty amputation was a surprise of twice as much removed as the patient was told would be removed. The relative's life has been destroyed by this doctor and his incompetence. This relative has been suicidal ever since, and the family has had a very tough ordeal of dealing with what will soon result in the untimely demise of this family member.

This doctor amputated my relative's leg without exhausting all possibilities of saving the limb. Through his negligence, he caused my relative to endure much physical and mental pain, to undergo further surgery to correct his mistakes in my relative's lack of adequate post-surgery care. Then, right after the surgery, he disappeared due to some mental breakdown of his own and my relative wound up suicidal.

Dr Birk did hip surgery on me with great. results. He gave me the pain medicine. I needed. 2 months later he did shoulder surgery, 5 weeks ago. He refuses to give me pain medicine because he says I am taking too much. IBP I can no longer take due to a kidney condition. Demarol was for headaches, which does not work so I do not take it. I receive Oxy from pain management for neck and back pain. But it is not a high enough dosage to control the pain in my shoulder, back & neck. He. refuses to work with me and I am still in terrible pain after 5 weeks. I Was taking the same dosage of Oxy when I had hip surgery and he gave me additional medicine to control the pain. He is a great surgeon but I have been in terrible pain for 5 weeks but he refuses to listen to me.

I'm still a work in progress, but Dr. Birk seems to know what I'm talking about when I describe my symptoms.

Will drop you and doesn't care about you. Wish we had never went there. Been going for 8 years. Our health is gone down hill due to this guy. Then, for no reason, drops you. What a example of our healthcare in America.

HE IS SO NICE. SO FAR HE HAS JUST GIVEN ME SHOTS IN MY KNEE BUT WE MAY HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ELSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER. I REALLY LIKED THE WAY HE INCLUDED MY HUSBAND WHILE HE WAS TALKING TO ME. HE WAS IMPRESSED TOO.

I have had multiple injuries that needed surgery, Dr Birk did an outstanding job with each procedure. I have recovered well from the 3 surgeries I had to have. His bedside manner far exceeds that of most other physicians. He always listened to me and was very patient. He also answered any questions I had. I have recommended many of my friends to Dr Birk. They have also had the same good experience as myself. Reading some of the other reviews almost made me laugh because those comments dont sound at all like Dr Birk. They must have him confused with another Dr, or be confused from drugs or something!!!! Dr Birk is highly educated and knows what he is doing when it comes to orthopedics!!!!
