Dr. Gordon Ellis Genta, MD

I went the first time to have my sinuses checked out at the reference of my family practitioner. Dr. Genta was friendly and I was told to come back for allergy testing for further review. When I made the appointment, I was given a sheet and told there would be a co-pay, and that I would need to make the appointment on a Wednesday because that's the only day the Dr. would be there. So, I made my appointment for a Wednesday. There was no mention of needing to make two appointments. When I went in for my allergy testing appointment, I didn't even get to see Dr. Genta (a different person did the testing and didn't even tell me her name...sighed and rolled her eyes the whole time as if my appointment was an inconvenience to her) and was told I would have to either 1. make a separate appointment to go over the results OR 2. stay that day and go over results, but still have to pay for a "second" appointment, even though I was already there. I asked her why, and she flipped out; she… yelled at me for being irresponsible about my insurance, told me it wasn't her job to tell me about my insurance (I didn't ask about it, because I know about it), told me I was trying to "do things on my own agenda" and that if I "didn't pay for appointments, Dr. Genta wouldn't be able to keep the lights on, so stop asking for things for free" (I never asked for anything free). All I did was try to clarify about the results, appointment, and questioned why I was never told this in the beginning. When she continued yelling at me about how it wasn't her job, I told her she was being rude and got up and walked out. She continued yelling, and followed me to the lobby, where she yelled at me more in front of other staff and patients. I left without the information I needed, more frustrated and infuriated than I have ever been at a doctor's appointment. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, and unpleasant. I will not be going back and don't recommend it to anyone else.

I have seen Dr Genta at least 3 times, he is very knowledgeable, very caring, I'm very happy he is my ENT, his audiologist is great also. Dr Genta is highly recommend, if you want to see an exellent ENT don't hesitate to see him! His great bedside manners is a bonus.

Over the last 20 years, as a CT and MRI technologist I have worked professionally with Dr. Gent. His outstanding concern for his patients' care gave me no doubt as to the Doctor I would choose when I needed an ENT. His staff was very friendly and spot on with paperwork and scheduling. His "bedside manner" was polite and very educational. He was very helpful in diagnosing and tending to me. His audiologist was also friendly, caring, and explained the examine. Of course he didn't know who I was until I told him after my appt. Professionally we had talked on the phone and in the radiology department as tech to doctor some 15 years ago.

Dr. Genta is one of the best and most caring ENT doctors around. He's been a provider for 30+ years and knows what he is talking about. People who state he is bad state this because THEY didn't get what THEY wanted or he didn't tell them what they THINK they already know. Dr. Genta will not give a patient or do for a patient what they want just because they want it. He does what is best for the patient's health and what is medically necessary. He is a very kind and caring provider and that is hard to find now a days.

When following up at my daughter's request on appointments I found the staff to be horrible and rude to the point I felt compelled to report to my insurance company. She was sent to another specialicts for additional tests and when I called to discuss why she needed to pay a full co pay rather then discuss the tests over the phone or send to her primary care physician, the staff screamed at me that I was an uncaring parent who would rather see my daughter ill rather then treat her and hung up on me. This was the attitude by both staff members, They were incensed that I went to my insurance and that I told them that I would post this experience online. While I can't speak of the doctor since he saw my college age daughter, I can say his staff is the rudest and most unprofessional I've ever experienced.

Dr. Genta is a very kind doctor and has been an ENT for years. He knows what he is doing and if it is something he cannot or does not do anymore he is very kind in guiding me in the right direction. His staff is nice and very helpful and friendly. Getting an appointment is easy to do within the week.

Absolute Rudest front office that I have ever dealt with. Not just one bad day, but every interaction is rude and callous. If they are trying to attract new patients, or hold on to existing ones, need to find staff that have people skills and that care to help. Doctor is knowledgeable but brief. Impression is that he lets the front office sharks run his office instead of the other way around. Too bad since they do not seem to have more than a GED education. Will never go back or refer friends, family or foe.
