Dr. Gordon Kim is the only doctor who has ever given me a colonoscopy and I have had 8 in ten years. He has helped me through some scary times. It's very hard calling his office, but once you're at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, and in the room and there he is: he's a beacon of hope. I always like seeing him.

I have had 2 colonoscopies with Dr Kim. My husband also uses him exclusively. We have never experienced any problems. Excellent, professional doctor with an outstanding nursing staff.

First, I have nothing against the Dr. or the procedure, it went smoothly. But I have problem with how they bill/charge and dealing with patients. The procedure billing code was changed DURING procedure, so an Insurance-covered Screening became Half-covered "Diagnostics" procedure so we have to pay several hundred dollars out of pocket. Insurance company happy to cover the whole thing once the office corrects the code, and said most other doctors won't do such change or would change back for same scenario. But when I called Dr Gordon's office, not only the representative told me they won't change, for me or for other patients, but while I was talking, she hangup on me! That's NOT what a professional service provider shall do for a paying client, and unless you are happy to pay a lot of unexpected costs, stay away.

I will never go back to Dr. Kim. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy. I was given 3 different sets of instructions as to how to take the solution the day before. I ended up following the directions given to me by the pharmacy and apparently that wasn't the correct choice. I told the nurses prior to the surgery that the solution had not done what it was supposed to do but they either didn't tell him or he didn't want a have a gap in his schedule. and wanted to proceed. I waited over 2 hours for them to start the procedure. The nurses were bending over backwards to impress him but the rest of the staff seemed to be walking on eggshells around him. Once I got into the operating room, , Dr. Kim wasn't interested in my concerns, he simply wanted to get the patients in and out as fast as humanly possible. And then hen I received the results from the procedure, he had scribbled on the paperwork that "the patient had horrible pre-prep for surgery resulting in poor analysis." Then to have the… oddocity to blame me for inconclusive results was unprofessional and arrogant. He still got paid for doing the surgery so it didn't matter to him if I was prepped or not. For me, the whole procedure was a waste of time and money.

No follow-up calls from the office staff/ doctor after 1st office visit, even though Dr. Kim said that I will hear from them after they receive my medical records. Front desk staff are grumpy and not pleasant to talk to in person or over the phone. Do not waste your time & money going to this clinic.

This guy has the bedside manner of a rattlesnake. Doesn't listen and doesn't care.

Dr. Kim did a colonoscopy on me and removed two polyps from my colon. As you know this could have been disastrous had he not been so thorough in his examination. I am grateful and see him now every five years for a follow up. He is all business so if you are looking for a shoulder to cry on find another gastroenterologist because his work ethic is straight forward as a specialist. I'm grateful to have him as part of my healthcare team of professionals at Scripps ð???
