Dr. Gordon Lee Mortensen, MD

If you want your pain “managed”, then DO NOT go to Dr. Mortensen. If you want your pain to continue, pay for unnecessary office visits, and take medications that do absolutely NOTHING to help reduce your pain, then by all means give him a call. I’ve been going to Dr. Gordon Mortensen for my chronic lower back pain for a couple of years now and my pain has not subsided in the least. I currently have a spinal cord stimulator permanently in my back, that does NOT work and never did work. I just let the battery slowly die, and I never want to think about it again. I’ve taken every medication he’s ever asked me to take exactly how he prescribed it. Nothing has EVER worked. My back pain just keeps getting worse every day. I don’t see an end in sight. Today I’ve decided to stop going to Dr. Mortensen, and try to find a doctor that will actually do something to reduce my pain, not just lead me along and take my money.

Dr. Mortensen is one of the nicest ,caring pain doctor I've met. He listens to you and your concerns. He and you work together to come up with the best plan to help your pain. Pain is with me 24/7 it's hard but thanks to Dr. Mortensen I do one day at a time.

This doctor looks at what type of insurance you have, rather then who you are. No matter how good his surgical skills are, his office/bedside manner severely subpar. One can not treat a person less then sub-human just because of their income level. It is not his right to judge a person based on their insurance, yet that is exactly what he does. It took his staff over 6 weeks to get a prior authorization for something, that never needed one to start off with. Then once that was settled, it was another 2 weeks to schedule the procedure. Leaving a patient waiting 8 weeks in extreme pain, for no real reason other than money. What was worse, when it was brought to his attention the issue of the huge delay over nothing. Dr Mortenson supported his staff. The days of general curtesy and good bedside manners by surgeons is going away sadly, and Dr Mortenson is a prime example of it. For him, it's all about the money!!!

Only complaint is that business has increased for this physician - which means the office personnel are a bit harried and the there is a longer wait for appointment if u want to see the doctor, rather than assistant.

I suffered with a myriad of back problems and intense pain for decades. I bounced from pain clinic to pain clinic, was treated like a junkie looking for a fix and was always belittled. After meeting Dr. Mortenson, I was feeling better already, because he and Sally treated me with care and compassion and they also treated me like a human being. The course of treatment we decided on has been a blessing and my pain level is very tolerable and I don't feel useless anymore. I'm not pain free and I never will be. If you are expecting to be pain free you will always be disappointed. However, working with Dr. Mortenson has made my pain level more than managable.

I've had to see him for awhile now and after the first visit he only showed up when I demanded to see him then he issues a drug test that cost me $400.00 and returned a false positive. I DO NOT TAKE ILLEGAL DRUGS OR ANY DRUG THAT IS NOT ACCESSABLE OVER THE COUNTER OR PRESCRIBED TO ME BY A MEDICAL PHYSICIAN. I only demanded to see him because his inconsiderate staff screwed up my perscription twice and was very rude. Then he comes in is very rude aswell and tells me he's going to reduce my prescription like the constant pain I'm in just stopped for some unknown reason. Sorry if this is execesive but I'm a very unhappy patient. Who will be looking for a new pain management physician as soon as I get the false positive bull strieghtend out. I'm only giving him two stars because he does know his field of study. As a Docotor he sucks.

run.this guy not only misdiagnosed he is rude,uncaring,and short mannered.Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Dr. Mortensen is a great doctor. He is kind and compassionate. Understands his area of practice very well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great Doctor
