Dr. Lapetina builds little if any rapport with clients, does a poor job at developing trust and building a therapeutic alliance.

I have never felt as good as I do now under Dr. Lapetina's care.

Dr. Lapetina is obviously a smart, kind, and well-intentioned doctor. Furthermore, she upholds the highest standards of professionalism, especially with regards to confidentiality. However, her therapy style resembles psychoanalysis, which is not an evidence-based method, and which many patients will not find useful. Much worse, she is extremely conservative in prescribing medications, even when the patient is desperate and miserable. (I have seen many other psychiatrists, and none is as conservative as her. She refused to change my medications for eight months even when I was truly suffering.) It seems she takes the Hippocratic oath a little too seriously, because it prevents her from helping people at all. I am grateful to have found a more courageous psychiatrist who is actually willing to do what it takes to treat me.
