Dr. Avendano has been my husband's cardiologist for many years and for the last couple of years I see him too. He is a really wonderful, caring doctor who truly takes the time to listen to you and he gets to know his patients personally. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a cardiologist. His support staff, since changing to Hackensack Meridian, is also great and easy to deal with! They too are very efficient.

Office staff always unpleasant and rude. If not for the admiration I have for Dr. Avendano, I would never visit this office again. If you can deal with the reception staff then I highly recommend this Dr!

I called to get some info and clearance for a patient and the receptionist was completely rude to me and staff that called, she yelled and hung up on us. trying to get info for a patient was extremely difficult and not helpful in any way!

Attentive caring competent doctor very personable listens to your concearns will never suggest a procedure you don’t really need. Stresses to call him immediately for any chest pain other doctors wanted to give me a pacemaker & defribulater he asked me what do you want that for I feel good confident & strong didn’t get those procedures going on strong for 9 years now kudos to dr Gary & his group J W Popek patient

My son was gravely ill when he became a patient of Dr. Avendano. He was always kind, gentle, caring and thorough. He treated my son with utter respect and dignity. I was so touched by the compassion he and his colleagues gave my son, so much so that I have been a patient of his group for more than 10 years. I recommend Dr. Avendano to everyone I know who needs a cardiologist. It is not often you find a physician who is truly empathetic and humble.
