Dr. Graciela Aberion Barzaga, MD

Dr.Barzaga is the most unprofessional Medical Doctor Iv'e ever meet. This Dr. made my spouse so up set because she has accussed my spouse of a positive urine test, and cut my spouses pain killers in half. I beleive it's time for the Dr to retire.

I have chronic pain condition. Arthritis in my neck and lower back from major auto accident several years ago. I was referred to Dr. Barzaga by my primary care provider for pain management because Dr. Barzaga specializes in pain management. After two visits, Dr. told me she would not take my case because she is not accepting new patients and is cutting back her hours. This was after she prescribed me Klonopin minus any refills and handed me a psychiatric leaflet regarding how to handle stress. I guess this was because I told her that I had PTSD after a complicated, protracted history of interpersonal violence. First of all, I have a therapist- thank you very much. For this doctor to assume that over the course of almost twenty years of PTSD that I haven't already tried every anti-anxiety technique in the book- she is seriously stupid. Chamomile, grounding techniques, yoga, meditation, hot bubble baths, calming music and lit candles have all been tried- but, however… calming they may be, they do NOT treat degenerative disc disease of the spine and herniated discs! Okay.....fine. I'll go back to my PCP and ask for a different referral. I have yet to find a pain specialist. For the record- I am willing to sign any contract, have on the spot pee tests, pill counts......whatever- just so I can not be in pain. I have NEVER sold drugs, over-dosed on drugs, do not do other drugs, or engage in any other sordid drug related behavior. Now- it is six months later and I am having a conversation with my best friend- a woman who was run over as a pedestrian by a car in 2009. Today, she is ALMOST to the point of having the lower half of her right leg amputated due to severe pain and other serious complications related to the installed medical hardware. When I hear from my bestie that she has been referred to Dr. Barzaga.......well......I hope she can appreciate my feelings of discrimination and outrage after being told BY HER that she wasn't taking on any new patients and is cutting back on her hours. To be quite frank? I feel discriminated against for having disability and being on Medi-Cal. This disability came about after working for the last thirty years and several injuries that have rendered me with chronic pain and neuropathies. I find Dr. Barzaga to be unethical and a complete liar. Don't be surprised if she is more interested in handing out mental health literature instead of healing according to her specialty of PAIN MANAGEMENT! Lastly, being somewhat of an intelligent and observant person, I noted the steady stream of established patients who chuck and jived with the staff as if they were old friends. Most of these patients worked their jaws, fidgited uncontrollably, and had a "meth head" look to them. I find more and more that obvious drug addicts are able to get anything they want- but legitimate patients get the $hit end of the stick. Signed- A patient with medically verifiable chronic pain

this dr is crazy, if I hear from her that she's been doing this for 40 years one more time I am going to shoot myself. (just kidding, but she's that bad) If she gives you a medication and it doesn't work she will tell you this isn't a car dealership you cannot just pic and choose your medication. all she cares about is putting you back to work without even fiximg the problem before doing so. get away from her if you value your health

she only takes on workmens compensation clients and has so many patients she forgets who you are when you go in and has no idea where your treatment is and forgets what she has ordered for you. what treatments your actually getting and which ones have been denied. she is forgetful and does no medical treatment herself, she farms you out to someone else and gives you no time to heal before she ruins your life by claiming your permanent and stationary without receiving adequate medical care. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT DOCTOR IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR LIFE RUINED

This doctor is always forgetting. I am constantly asking if any news or results have come in and they usually have, but she never said anything after it being in the folder many weeks. She beomes irate and only covers the surface, never realizing there are undlying conditions. She is also too optimistic about conditions that are definitely not going to improve but have only gotten worse.
