Dr. Grant James Anhalt, MD

Though he is super knowledgeable, he pumped me up with steroids but refused to help me with any of the debilitating side effects. He kept me on a fairly high dose for over a year. 50 lbs later, I've never been able to get all the weight back off and my skin looks like I was attacked by a shark. He eventually stopped responding to my messages. I went to see another dermatologist and they took the least invasive brought (a skin dressing) and I was cured. Probably one of the worst years of my life.

I have been going to him for a number of years. He is not “warm and cuddly” but is thorough and matter of fact. I trusted him completely even before the following experience. I went in for something which turned out to be nothing but he spotted a very small thing which I had not noticed. He took a biopsy and it turned out to be melanoma. He referred me to Hopkins where it was removed. It was at an extremely early stage so there was no need for further treatment. It might or might not be an overstatement to say he saved my life. I probably would have noticed it eventually as it got larger. Or maybe not. At the very least, it is fair to say that he saved me from significant treatment and anxiety. I am very grateful. Recommend him without question.

Lacks empathy, poor bedside manner. Told me what I already knew, didn’t offer any other treatment recommendation.

Dr. Anhault hit the nail on the head diagnosing a condition I have. It was a difficult diagnosis and very few Dr. on Long Island know about it. Dr. Anhault hooked me up with a superior Dr. in New York and my condition is under control and I don't have to travel to Baltimore as often. Dr. Anhault is extremely knowledgeable and gets you where you need to be with treatment.

Dr. Anhalt is a great Dermatologist. My son David's had a very severe cas if Pemphigus Vulgaris. Dr. Anhalt saved his life. His diagnosis and treatment got it into remission and gave him his life and career back. I highly recommend Dr. Grant Anhalt.

Did not introduce himself. Did not wash his hands before examining me. Did not explain anything. About as poor a physician-patient interaction as can occur.

Dr Anhalt is a gem! He is a rare combination of a brilliant diagnostician with a caring bedside manner,if you require a Dermatologist who specializes in rare skin issues,hes your man!

I had an appointment with Dr. Anhalt for evaluation of some suspicious moles. Dr. Anhalt was extremely unprofessional. He did not leave the room for me to undress. He basically stood there waiting for me to reveal my areas of concern. It made me so nervous I could barely remember all the moles I wanted evaluated. I am an educated person and he seemed annoyed by my concerns. He answered my questions in a patronizing tone. He tried to explain that I should not be evaluated for moles that are smaller than an eraser. I then showed him some moles that were larger than an eraser with irregular borders. He then stated "that looks like that's been there a while". He took no time to educate me on why the mole was "normal". Overall, Dr. Anhalt spend approx 5 minutes with me. I felt the whole visit was a waste of time. I would never return or recommend him.

Dr Anhalt is a TOP Dr. An incredible diagnostician and right on target. He has a quiet personality which I personally welcome. He is straight to the point yet courteous. He is considered one of the MAJOR experts in serious autoimmune diseases and his opinion is sought after by many other Dr's around the world! Highly Recommended!
