Dr. Heinz obtained his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in chemistry. He obtained his medical degree from the prestigious University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, graduating with high honors and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society during his junior year. He then returned to Hawaii for his medical/surgical internship at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine.
Dr. Heinz completed his residency at the renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where he was first introduced to facial cosmetic surgery. He then went on to two years of fellowship training in ophthalmic facial plastic surgery at Indiana University in Indianapolis. His time there was devoted exclusively to plastic surgery of the face, including cosmetic surgery, facial trauma, and facial reconstruction, with a special focus around the eyes. While in Indianapolis, Dr. Heinz was one of the state's most prolific facial trauma …surgeons.
Dr. Heinz moved to the Phoenix metropolitan area in 1996. Since that time, he has been actively involved in a growing facial reconstructive and cosmetic practice. Dr. Heinz was one of the early leaders in the field of Botox injections, treating patients as early as 1988. He started cosmetic application of Botox in 1995 and became a leader in the field. Dr. Heinz's leadership role was recognized by Botox Cosmetic-Allergan, for whom he was a trainer and for whom he served for many years on the Botox education committee. Because of his leadership in the field of Botox and fillers, Dr. Heinz was chosen to participate in the FDA trials for Juvederm cosmetic fillers.
Dr. Heinz is also a recognized leader in the field of facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal. He was recognized by Phoenix Magazine as \"Top Doc\" 2012 and has been recognized by \"Best Doctors\" as one of the top doctors in the country since 2005.
