Dr. McKinley and his wife Debbie have lived on Hilton Head for several years. They have raised 6 children,
Gwen, Brandon, Andrea, Grant II, Camden and Jay. Dr. McKinley practiced for 15 years in Michigan before moving to Hilton Head full time. Dr. McKinley's father, four brothers, and three uncles were all dentist. Soon to be empty nesters, Grant and Debbie look forward to bringing that legacy of care to Hilton Head.

Dr. McKinley followed his father closely, graduating from the University of Detroit, School of Dentistry in 1983 and built his first golf course in 1987 , …Brigadoon Golf Club. Yes he has built a few more, it seems dentistry and golf just go together in the McKinley family. So don't be surprised to look out the window of the Dr's office and see a golf course.
