Dr. Greg Lawson Clary, MD

Very unprofessional and unkind. I saw him when I was at a suicidal point in my life and he told me I didn’t deserve to live. He then prescribed an antidepressant, which worked wonderfully, but never made me aware of the side effects. I immediately gained 27lbs and after changing psychiatrists, I was told that particular antidepressant is for anorexics. I am a post gastric bypass patient and this was strongly the wrong med for me. I would advise everyone to look elsewhere before settling with this provider.

DON'T TRUST THIS GUY! Is follow-up to eariler review. He put me on medication NOT in my best interests. Have gained 40+ lbs from "off label" use of a RX medication, he prescribed for me! At no time did he mention possible side effects, esp that l could become physically dependent on the drug. A common story for opioid dependent persons.... Some reviewers have found him to add solace to their lives. I haven't and would not return to him even though he's changed the practice he functions with. I think he's "personable", but as to my needs, he didn't communicate any type of plan concerning my care. Just sent form letter disenrolling himself from my care after being told by HIS STAFF, not to reschedule, when called saying l'm running 10 minutes late. Feel deeply he's just another non-non-interested with initals MD after his name. Relies heavily on medications...Are only a help, ALL have SIDE EFFECTS!

I received treatment when I was 19 yrs old. I had medical and psychological things happening. I was scared. He helped me get back to living my best life. I am planning on seeing him again shortly. Very knowledgeable

While I was crying in front of him he decided to get an annoyed tone in his voice and said “well what else can I do?” Rolled his eyes and treated me like a brat. I’m never going to him again and wish anyone seeking treatment to never experience a man who treats his patients like he did me. He’s a terrible doctor and more of a pill pusher.

Had many feelings about my experiences with this physician. He decided to refuse to provide for my care. I received this information via aform letter. I showed up late for a medication management appt.. HAD called office to identify will be late & Offered to reschedule the appt rather than show up late. I was told not to worry about it and to come in. When arrived he was visually angry, and mentioned appt should rescheduled. Left feeling "VERY Unsettled". He went ahead harshly telling me what he belived l needed to do. He was angry because l imposed a disruption up to his schedule. Seemed he disliked how his staff handled my situation of running late. Would GLADLY rescheduled appt to allow him to adhear to his schedule. I found him very condescending towards me upon requesting he make a referral to local neuropsychologist, Dr Karen Sullivan, verbally stating "-Don't think you even know what neuroplasticity is". It was clear he just wanted to get me out of the office so he… could finish up with his days work. He didn't bother to ask me what neuroplasticity is or to explain the why's behind the reason for my request.for that referral. I also approached with wanting to "-work though" issues concerning possibility of leaving husband of nearly forty years. I for more than he wasl was new to NC and in the creating phase of learning about who l could go to for information, where abouts, etc. A day later l received form letter which basically said, "l no longer want to be your psychiatrist ". Conviently letter did not have a phone contact number for his office. I didn't feel "taken care of" by this DoDoctor and am now a year later happy he signed off my case! When visited Dr Clary l was new to the State of NC. Have done well finding my way around locating provider's able and willing to meet my needs on my terms. He just link of stepping stone pathway to receiving medical care l feel apart of and enjoy working with. I just Didn't feel "taken care of by him". When mentioned if necessary to provide in-patient psychiatric care l didn't want to use Moore Regional Hospital, 1st Health facility, preferring a higher staff/patient ratio he mumbled there might be something in Raleigh. He signed off being a provider without addressing issues l brought up.Nevertheless he did provide a referral to Dr Sullivan, Neuropsychologist. He states he's qualified, meets trng expectations for providing almost all aspects of medical care: from psychiatric, insomnia/sleep, bipolar, schizophrenia as well as various types usually divided by specialist according to bodily system. He's knows enough to be considered a jack of all trades and what's needed to obtain the necessary documentation to appear universally competent in any branch of medicine. I assume he is multi-skilled in several disiciplines, but would prefer a specialist that doesn't spread himself across so many body systems. Think would be a excellent choice to function as a PCP or family doctor. Didn't really engage in being a person l could count on to be there for me, esp in a time of need. My time connected with him was indeed brief, but l didn't feel he was sucessful in meeting my needs and taking care of me in a way meaningful to me! Might give him opportunity , while reflecting on your needs and outcome you want..

Hasn't called in refill for medication in over two months. Going to find another doctor who's qualified to be called a doctor.

poorest excuse for psychological treatment i have experienced. i am 62 yr. old female and can see a quack when i meet one. my opinion was confirmed when i spoke with staff members on day of visit...

I have found Dr. Clary to be one of the most knowledgeable doctors I have ever encountered. Yet, the doctor's office staff is really the worst I have ever worked with. I would not deal with the hassle of the office just to get the good care Dr. Clary offers his patients.

Dr. Clary has always helped myself and many of my family members. He's very professional,gets right to the problem and takes care of it. He's very direct and he's the best dr.we have.
