Dr. Greg Howard Savel, MD

He used to be an amazing pediatrician with within whom we placed so much trust. However, his demeanor recently with respect to a visit with our 16 year old has forced us to leave a practice which we have been with for over 18 years. We absolutely loved them but the Dr. Savel we witnessed the other day was not the same man we used to respect. I have no idea what changed but he refused to even listen to us , he rushed to quickly place our son on a narcotic without even discussing it with us and very abruptly dismissed my concerns about possible side effects, alleging that it has NONE. He went off on a tangent about Scientologists and moms who think vaccines cause autism. We were dumbfounded. It was all so odd! We were simply there to discuss possible ADD issues but he was simply too quick to dismiss our concerns and write a prescription for a quick fix. It was not at all the consultation we anticipated. Such a sad disappointment after 18 years of loving his practice.

Left his practice a few years ago. He has such a great personality and seems caring but he was in so much of a rush. It was total fast-food medicine.

Dr. Savel is a competent and caring pediatrician. I'm in my 30's and I was a patient at Myrtle Avenue Pediatrics when I was a child. My children now are patients there. His diagnosis is always correct. I am always able to get my kids in last minute for sick visits. The office staff is so friendly. I am always able to talk with a nurse when I call and they return calls same day. Dr. Savel is rather quick during a visit but he does have a lot of experience so probably doesn't need as much time to make a diagnosis as newer MDs.

He is so distracted during an office,talks about his daughter rather than your child. Doctor forgets what he is doing during office visit. Not attentive to child's medical needs.AVOID HIM.

Dr. Greg is great physician. He has been my doctor since he checked me out of the hospital to go home for the first time when I was born. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Savel's knowledge and competence is sometimes hidden by his funny engaging manner. He is an outstanding pediatrician. My kids have been going to this group since birth and they are 13 and 11. My 11 y/o had meningitis at 8 weeks so I owe these pediatricians her life.

We've had Dr. Savel as our children's pediatrician for 18 years. His superior medical training comes through especially well during emergencies. He has a funny disarming bedside manner. Sometimes, it may seem as though a concern of ours isn't taken too seriously and, usually, it turned out that the concern was not serious after all. He is very knowledgeable and has been a joy to have as our childrens' doctor; one of whom is now grown up.
