Dr. Greg Robert Zarelli, MD

I don't know whether he's still practicing, as my visits with him were some time ago, but I see I'm not the only one who had a bad experience. He said medicine was his second career (after business) and I thought, but didn't say, that he should have chosen travel agent instead, since he liked talking about his visits to other countries (which was OK). I saw him under suspicion of having MS (suspected by myself as well as a previous neurologist, though unproven) and I had not got 25 words out of my mouth before he started saying "That's not MS, that's not MS..." His report of my symptoms was wrong in every other line, he said something about benign positional vertigo that I KNEW was wrong, and when I pointed out to him that a formula he was using on a lab result was backwards (I looked it up on 7 different websites), his reply was "Well, I was taught in medical school that it was thus-and-such," with apparently no intention of correcting himself. (That result didn't matter in my case,… but it might have in someone else's.) To top it off, I had seen on an MS forum (back in the day when real doctors posted on them) that he said MRI lesions are REQUIRED for a diagnosis--which wasn't true at the time, though I don't know about now--and at least one other MS specialist jumped in to refute him. So even his peers disagree with him. However, in my case he was never actually rude--he always seemed pleasant enough, just WRONG on many counts, not listening, and not interested in getting to the bottom of my symptoms.

Absolute trash. Doesn't do his job correctly and treats people like garbage. Needs license removed and shouldnt be practicing medicine in any way shape or form. There's a reason he has 3 stars but honestly should be 0.

Well... I’m relieved to see that I was not the only one to have horrible experience with Dr. Zarelli. I was intimidated by him and so did not file complaint years ago. I also left out things that happened in appt in my previous review so I’ve decided to add the rest. He also screamed at me while a resident was with him... really screamed. Also he refused to look at video I had taken on my phone of fasiculations (twitching) in my legs that morning. The intern looked at my video and smiled... saying “yes I see them.”Seeing fasiculations was an important part of getting a proper diagnosis. Dr. Zarelli was tired of me coming so he wrote in notes for that day, “no fasiculations.” In one appt he also became angry and was forcefully and in anger poking me “testing me for fiber myalgia”... but he was deliberately doing it in a hurtful way. I’m really surprised he hasn’t had disciplinary action.

Dr. Zarelli came into the room and asked me what I have been dealing with ( I have been sick for 4 months with neurological symptoms) after telling him one symptom he immediately cut me off and started doing an extremely aggressive and fast paced physical exam- while not listening to me at all. He didn't give me any room to talk. He touched my shoulder and said it was tight and diagnosed me with stress based off of one touch and one symptom. He wouldn't hear anything I had to say about other possible conditions or about past illness that was related to this. I told him how rude he was being and how he was going way too fast. I walked out of the appointment before it was over crying and didn't even wait for the desk staff to give me any paperwork because I was so upset. I have never had such a terrible experience with a health care professional. I have no idea how this doctor is still practicing, his bed side manner was appalling. He also had a student with him and I am appalled that he… is teaching other future physicians.

Dr. Zarelli was the doctor to finally diagnose me after numerous could not in almost 3 years. He knew immediately what was wrong. After not being believed or heard by other doctors, it was such a relief to finally get answers. Unfortunately my disease, Myalgic Encephamyolitis, doesn’t have much for treatment, but Dr. Zarelli has been open to trying things. Some doctors are so wrapped up in their own egos that they won’t consider your ideas or findings. I’m so grateful to have found Dr. Zarelli!

He is not a qualified care giver. Does not care about patients and his attitude is so rude. I got the feelings that health care with him is a materialistic business more than a physician message to help patients. unfortunately most physician as kaiser are like technicians who just follow protocols in textbooks without deep investigations or comprehensive study.

This Doctor was very friendly competent funny and not In any hurry, he took the time to get me the answers I needed, explained what was going on with me and was uber helpful and compassionate and I very much appreciated his time.

I had an awfull experience with this doctor. I saw him for awhile. He often had a mocking attitude when I described my symptoms, was rude and yelled a ...

Dr. Zarelli can be kind but he is also moody. He was rude to me more than once and one time yelled at me during our last appointment. I will not return to see him.

He's a good listener, gives the patient (me in this case) as much time and information as needed/wanted/asked for. I would see him and again and recommend him without reservation.
