Horrible.

I have met with Dr. Blix a few times over the past four years for various reasons. The most recent concerned a questionable lesion from an MRI on a kidney and Dr. Blix deducted it to be 80/20 percent cancerous, and to follow up with a biopsy. Very alarming to hear the 'C' word before proven. The biopsy performed three weeks later showed no signs of cancer, but it then took another week to get a call from Dr. Blix to hear the biopsy results. A month can be a long time believing you may have kidney cancer. I would not recommend him and found him to be very arrogant and a poor communicator as far as advice given.

An expert surgeon. We had confidence in him and rightfully so! He was affirming and respectful and answered all our questions. He even talked to me on the phone when I had a question about surgery. We are thankful this region has this doctor.

I was less than impressed. Perhaps the drs blix 24 yrs has left him complacent; he comes across strongly as arrogant. Asked a few questions, did NOT explain what I had, what he was looking for - didn't get the Cather in the first time-(said"are your allergic to any meds?" "Good, I have a pill for you" ...that was it!! Came back into the room, handed me one pill- said take this and left. Left alright-left me with no answers/explication -having to ask his nurse (very good) what the medication I will be taking does-why the small pill (for infection from Cather )-and also left me sore when I urinated for two days from the cath! Follow up with his PA was great. PA makes dr look even worse. At PA follow up I said I didnt like pill side affects-"will I take a pill forever?" He was surprised I had no idea about a non generic pill AND the option of learning how to self control urges, which I am now successfully doing. Bottom line , ego got in way of best practice.
