Dr. Alvine is a native of Sioux Falls and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1987. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa in 1991 and went on to complete his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Kansas in 1996. Dr. Alvine completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at Orthopedic Physician Associates in Seattle WA in 1997 and then returned to Sioux Falls to begin his practice in July of 1997. He practices general orthopaedics with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery and spine surgery.

Dr. Alvine is extremely important doctor. He is gracious when we meet, hand shake and smile. He is encouraging with progress and very detailed with process and options. Highly recommend him. Conveniently does visits in Marshall MN to save mileage for his patients.

A great visit! Dr Alvine is very knowledgeable in all that he does. He always has the best bed side manner and is a truly caring physician. I tell everyone who needs to see an orthopedic physician to go to Orthopedic Institute, the best is the best!!

The doctor was very nice and explained exactly what he would do to help me with the problem I have with my foot and ankle which was very helpful on the surgery he will do. The nurse and ex ray technicians were very good at their jobs and very polite.
