Dr. Gregory Mark Brown, MD

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Brown for nearly 9 years. Before moving to this area, my wife and I were both fortunate to have excellent physicians. Through research and word of mouth, we finally found a great local physician in Dr. Brown. He has proven to be an excellent physician. He is caring, shares information, provides direction and answers to our questions, is pro-active and is always familiar with our medical history and well prepared for our office visits. And at times when one of us were in need of medical services from local specialists, Dr. Brown referrals were excellent.

We have been seeing Dr. Brown since we moved to Leesburg, Florida 14 years ago. We later moved to the west coast and quickly discovered that the medical care here is not the same. Even though we have to drive for about an hour we realized the TLC that we received from Dr. Brown was not to be found here in Citrus County. Dr. Brown is definitely worth the drive, we couldn't ask for a more caring attentive doctor.

I KNOW PEOPLE INCLUDING MY MOTHER AND FATHER FOR OVER 20 YEARS WHEN HE REFERS A PERSON TO ANOTHER DOCTOR THEY ARE GREAT YOU HAVE TO CALL 15 MIN BEFORE YOUR APOINTMENT TO LET YOU KNOW IF HE IS ON TIME OR RENNING BEHIND THIS IS BECAUSE HE SPENDS THE EXTRA TIME WITH PEOPLE. HE IS NOT LIKE OTHER DOCTOR THAT TREAT YOU LIKE YOU ARE A PERSON IN A MANUFACTURING LINE 15MIN NEXT PERSON 15 MIN ECT. OVER THE YEARS I NEEDED TO SEE MANY DIFFERENT DOCTORS FROM BASIC HEALTH TO BRAIN SURGERY I AM 53 YEARS OLD AND HE HAS BEEN THE GP AS LONG AS I LIVE IN THE AREA HE WILL BE MY GP RIGHT NOW IT IS 11 YEARS

He is the best.

Hard to describe Dr. Gregory Brown. I have had fibromyalgia and a host of other illnesses for a good part of my life. When I moved from Cleveland (and Cleveland Clinic doctors) to FL...I was very concerned about finding a new physician who could provide quality care. I really got lucky when I found Dr. Brown. He is SO caring, compassionate and SO knowledgeable. I have never felt like I was in better hands than when I was being treated by Dr. Brown. I have since moved away from the area---and the ONLY thing I miss--is Dr. Brown. I think that the health care in FL is grossly inadequate---in fact, it scares me. I am now in Sarasota--and believe me....I have been through a list of doctors and NONE of them even come CLOSE to monitoring me as thoroughly and carefully as his office and staff did. There have been many times that I have thought of making the drive back up to Leesburg to keep him as my internist....but, KNOW that I have to find someone closer to home to monitor my care.… If you are lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Brown's.....you probably don't realize just how lucky you are. He will take as much time as you need. You may have to wait in his office when you arrive for your appt. for a time before you can see him--but, that is only because the patient before you needed him---NOT because he is wasting time. Don't take it for granted......VERY FEW DOCTORS in FL rise up to his level of professionalism and knowledge.

Good Doctor..Too many patients at a time. Waiting time is rediculous, waited over 2 hrs last visit.

Dr. Brown really CARES about his patients...I often feel guilty about keeping him so long at my appointment--he spends as much time as you need...so, I can't complain when I have to wait during my visit. I know that he is spending necessary time with others....He's very cautious about prescribing unnecessary meds---once I thought that antibiotics had become some kind of "controlled substance"!!! Much better than having a pill pusher as a doctor...

I have tremendous respect for Dr. Brown's intelligence and concern for his patients. His staff, however, is horrible. In general the staff is incompetent, uncaring, and rude and careless. The staff is so bad that I have considered looking elsewhere as I am becoming concerned about the quality of care I am receiving! It is a shame that patients will surely suffer due to staff carelessness even though the doctor is excellent.

I didn't comment on ease of getting an appointment because he has no problem having the maximum number of patients he can handle. I didn't comment on waiting time during a visit because when you actually are with Greg, it's not your typical Doctor experience. He actually spends time with you, listens to what you have to say and talks to you at your level. Few Doctors care as much as this one. You would be fortunate to be accepted as one of his patients, but he hardly ever is able to take on any more.
