Dr. Gregory Morris Decker, MD

I came in through the clinic- doc did X-rays and MRI- I had 2 ruptured discs and nerve root impingement. I was hurting so much. Doc did a cervical epidural which helped a tiny bit with the numbness and weak grip- but the pain was still excruciating. No one ever called to see how I tolerated the steroid injection or for any other reason the entire time I was in his care. I called repeatedly and left messages with Michelle his assistant but most went unanswered. I work in the OR with a lot of docs and this guy is awful. I would recommend seeing ANYONE else. There are many numbers you have to go through to even talk to a person only to be referred to Michelles voicemail and shes too busy during the day to return phone calls. Incredibly frustrating. Im not the type that needs my hand held but to never call and check on a patient? It seems the guys with the biggest egos always provide the most mediocre care. Expect to do a lot chasing and not get much answers. So glad he finally dumped me… so I can find a doc that actually got into medicine to care for patients.

Like the other reviewer, I also give Dr. Decker one star. I waited to see this doctor for almost a year only to be asked if I had any kind of formal exercise program at home. I was seen for all of 5 minutes by him, told to go to PT (which I was released from since there was nothing more they could do) and told to speak to his medical assistant should I need any further assistance in the future. I am now recovering from neurosurgery with a possible second in a couple months. Not the caliber of a Washington University Physician. Arrogant, pompous, uncaring. I wouldn’t let anyone from any other profession treat me the way Dr. Decker did. Why should a doctor be able to just because he wears a white coat.

I wasted nearly a year of going to Dr. Decker for knee pain which was not arthritis. By the last visit I was unable to walk any distance or sleep due to pain. I asked for further diagnostic testing many times which he felt unnecessary and told me to buy a brace with hinges. After a visit to the emergency department from extreme pain and inability to walk it was found that I have a torn meniscus which will require surgery. 0 stars for Dr. Decker. 0 stars for his office for their lack of assistance in helping me find a surgeon.
