Dr. Greg Friederichs

Dr. Greg J. Friederichs is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and contact lens section of the AOA, sports vision section of the AOA and American Academy of Optometry-candidate, optometric clinical affiliate of Summit Technology and Minnesota Optometric Association, third party/insurance committee and co-editor-MOA EyeCare Benefits newsletter, and advisor to St. John’s University’s pre optometry program. Dr. Friederichs is board certified by the International Associations of Board Examiners. He is certified in basic and clinical sciences of optometry as well as treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Friederichs holds research and advisory positions in many ophthalmic companies including Johnson & Johnson, Alcon, Polymer Technology, EyeSys Technology, Allergan, Menicon, Ciba Vision, Bausch & Lomb, Storz, and Cooper. He has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Optometry, EyeQuest magazine, the Journal American Academy of Optometry, the …Journal British Contact Lens Association, Optometric Management, Review of Optometry, and Contact Lens Spectrum. Dr. Friederichs also lectures nationally on contact lenses, contact lens solution, eye diseases and practice management. Giving back to the community is a priority for Dr. Friederichs. He is past president of the Paynesville Jaycees, past cub master of Paynesville’s Cub Scouts, member of the Paynesville Lions, Paynesville and St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus. Dr. Friederichs is a member of the Minnesota chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and has lead eye care mission trips to South America. His awards include St. John’s University’s Senate Service Award, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometry honor student, and Minnesota Young OD 1995. Dr. Friederichs received his BS from St. John’s University and his doctorate of optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Friederichs and his wife, Ann, have three sons (Nathan, Zachary and Benet) and live in Paynesville.
