Dr. Gregory Jason Golladay, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Golloday for over 15 years & he’s never failed me. It was quite the progression until my recent reconstructive total knee replacement. & boy how I wish I had him before my partial was done over 11 years ago through another provider outside of VCU. But as I was saying Dr. Golloday took out the old & put in the new knee replacement & both of us are happy campers.

I was referred to Dr. Golladay by my regular surgeon because he handles very complicated surgeries. I knew he was my surgeon immediately upon meeting. He ask questions, listens and gives direct feedback on his thoughts. He personally checked in with me every day of my hospital stay after surgery. Dr. Golladay also provides a well organized and useful site to record progress,tell what exercises to perform and share any concerns. Dr. Golladays skills and abilities are clear in the results.

Dr. Golladay has done knee replacements on both my knees. His bedside manner is exceptional. He has personally called me to check on my progress, remembers details about me from visit to visit, provides the best medical assessment and treatment, and has given me a life free from knee pain. I am constantly recommending him to people in my same situation. I am so very grateful that I found Dr. Golladay.

Dr. Golladay needs to retire. He might have had a great bedside manner in the past, but according to my experience and several other new reviews within the last two years, he actually seemed angry and annoyed he had to be there. He put me down, talked over me, dismissed my symptoms after my partially answering a question and made me cry and shut down. I'm autistic and struggle with effective communication in part due to an audio processing delay, and due to my autism having gone undiagnosed for the majority of my 40+ years, in the 80s, parents beat those behaviors out of most of us, including making sure our bodies didn't know how to process pain because it would get worse if you cried. He also in the process proved he didn't read my chart and the results his colleague found in the MRI of my hip. Dismissed the first place I said was painful and stated that's not a symptom of a labral tear. When, in fact it IS symptomatic of a labral tear, just apparently not the locations he's most… familiar with. Wrote in my chart that I'm mentally unstable and said he didn't believe I have a muscle tear, even though that's what hos colleague told me, I have three labral tears that his colleague found. It's time for him to retire his god complex and license.

From my first visit with Dr. Holliday, I had my good impression that he is my surgeon. That’s is attributed to his fame in his specialty as well as the excellent reviews. I did the total knee replacement for my right knee last February and now I am doing well with physical therapy and the pain has lessened tremendously. I look forward to operate the left knee with much confidence in God and him and all his team at the VCU. Much care, much professionalism I did receive during my surgery. I do recommend Dr. Holliday and the VCU hospital to any patient seeking comfort to any patient suffering knee or hip issues. Dr Golladay provided excellent care throughout my knee replacement surgery and recovery. My knee feels strong and my mobility has improved tremendously. Dr Golladay was able to accommodate my special needs as someone with Cerebral Palsy and special learning needs.

Dr Golladay saved me. I had another dr wanting to do a huge back fusion on me that could have put me in the nursing home. I really needed hip replacement and he was right! Now even my back is better. Thank you so much! I can never repay you for all your kindness to me either.

Dr. Golladay was recommended by a friend for whom Dr. Golladay fixed a previous knee replacement for which other expert physicians said they could do nothing. The treatment I received from Dr. Golladay and the staff at VCU was exceptional. Despite significant deformity in my knee requiring extra cutting and repair, I was walking without a device after 3 weeks and have a full range of motion in the knee. I would recommend Dr. Golladay without any reservation. Just a “heads-up” to those of you who may be considering knee replacement and who may have other skeletal or joint issues: consider what impact straightening your leg may have on your other conditions. I have a very bad back and straightening my leg has aggravated that condition: lengthening my leg changed my posture and my back must now adjust.

Dr. Golladay and his team are excellent and caring. He has really changed my quality of life.
