Dr. Gregory P Hatzis, DDS

I chose Dr. Hatzis because he was affiliated with Good Shepherd Hospital and the reviews on this page were favorable. My initial consultation was two weeks ago. Surgery was scheduled for today. The first visit was 1.5 hours. I spent maybe 10 min. with the Dr. I was told what money they wanted up front which included 10% of total in case insurance did not pay as stated. Arrived today for surgery. Was called back for surgery 30 minutes after scheduled time. Sat in chair for another 15 minutes. Dr. Hatzis comes in and say "what are we doing today?" I tell him. He tells me to open my mouth. I did, he stood a good 8 ft away. He then asked if I had had a CAT scan done. I responded "no", he did not order one. He said I needed to have a CAT scan before surgery. Said he could do it with out it because he needed the money. He then walked out of the room. The nurse asked if we wanted to think about it. I told her yes because I was very angry. She left the room. My husband and… I had both taken off work for this "surgery". I would not have needed a driver for a CAT scan. I unhooked myself, went to the front counter for my refund, and left. I will not revisit this nightmare. While he is a complete pompous punk, his office staff is beyond reproach.

Dr. Hatzis has been my surgeon for about 3 years now. Im very comfortable with his work and he has been very thorough with my tumor. The complaint i have is with the billing department. Most of my procedures we pay cash up front, but most every procedure and quotes are different at the time of procedure day compared quotes previously given. Keep ALL reciepts given and contracts signed!! Also, stay on top of billing department that your insurance company is being billed!! On my BIG surgery a pathologist was used, the staff did not pass along my insurance information so i recieved a bill almost exactly a year after my surgery. Im now stuck with it because is past a year. I do know that if you pester them and let them know your on top of things they tend to give you what you want. Also, Dr. Hatzis will imediately fix issues with the billing!

If you want someone who cares more about speed than perfection, then this is your doctor.

From the moment I stepped foot into the waiting room my experience was more than satisfying. Everyone I encountered was welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend Dr.Hatzis to anyone. He is earnest In his expertise and my results from his care are evidence to his talent. Throughout the procedure he communicated to me step by step as well as checking in with me to ensure I was feeling no discomfort or pain. I healed perfectly and I had even received a follow up. I could not be anymore satisfied with his work!

a very arrogant young man with a horrific bedside manner. didn't introduce himself when entering room. came across as extremely pompous.

My experience was sad. Denied my insurance to find out same day they accepted my insurance but by then made me wait from friday to monday to receive my surgery. Major infection in my mouth oral cellulitis. I am an Rn and have never been treated so badly in my life. Receptionist was rude and tacky. They wanted my share of moneys up front which they figured what my insurance would not pay charging me 871.00. I know to watch my bill finding that they overcharged me with after insurance my share was only 156.00. My surgery was Aug 15th and I am still waiting on the Dr.'s office to correct everything and refund my money. Used care credit so they are wanting their money. Word of caution keep your bills check them closely. As for Dr. Hatzis yelled at his nurses in front of me so unprofessional only saw him for about 5 minutes max. A 12 year old could do better. My diagnosis was already done in ER which Dr. Hatzis states teeth needed to be pulled ...you think. I would never recommend this… Doctor or ever use him again. Never even had a follow up visit told me I did not need to come back that is just not good practice. Overall rating extremely poor.
