Dr. Gregory K Kontopanos

Well I am posting a one star review NOT because of a bad experience with Dr. Kontopanos, I'm NOT even posting a negative review because of an unfriendly experience with the receptionist. Actually the entire team is lovely, however I really don't trust them. I restarted visiting Dr. Kontopanos a little over a year and I pay out of pocket every time. Paying isn't the issue as I realize that my insurance isn't the best. My issue is that they lack transparency, I have always relied on my dentist to find out what my insurance will pay vs what I should expect to pay however this office doesn't get it right. I realize that they can only provide an estimate but to receive a bill for 965.00, after paying several hundreds of dollars during each visit is completely unacceptable. Then if I ask the receptionist to tell me how much will my next visit be to have her say "I don't know. " Well I'm sorry I'm not as rich as they are, I do have a budget that I need to consider. Sadly I'll have to look… for another dentist, somewhere that understands insurance (even the not so good plans) so I will not receive surprise bills in the mail, or have unexpected charges that I hadn't budgeted for. It's really bad that you cant trust the insurance company or the dentist. It's really sad that no one understands the bill other than sending it. Good dentist office, they just lack integrity when it comes to the total charge. ??
