Dr. Gregory Lloyd Lavigne, MD

I was suffering from depression, partly because my longterm relationship had ended. Every session he would ask if I "had any romance in my life," continuing this (false and very unhelpful) belief I held that I needed a boyfriend to be happy. He also encouraged me to use dating apps because "that is the only way people meet these days." I told him repeatedly that I was not interested in dating presently but he pushed it at every session. (I tried the apps and it was disastrous because I was in such a bad mindset). Whatever treatment I was getting from Lavigne did not work, and it was so bad I had to quit my job rather than be fired because my performance was terrible. I thought I had treatment resistant depression, and was at the lowest point of my life. I was also not in therapy, which I could have REALLY benefitted from, and he never suggested it. When the appointments switched to virtual because of covid, he would ask me at every session what meds I was on because he "didn't have my… chart in front of him." He was supposed to be working, so I'm not sure why he never had my chart. After this happened several appointments in a row, I had enough sense to drop him and asked my PCP to prescribe me the meds until I found someone else. Its taken a few years, but since then I've gotten great care from a therapist and a psychiatrist and I'm very happy (and single...imagine that!)

I spent years with this deadbeat hack. I went to him based on the recommendation of a prominent person from St. Peter’s Hospital. Apparently Dr. LaVigne cons a lot of people into believing he’s as good a doctor as he is in charming his peers. He’s two different people. I had no idea what should have taken place during those sessions. I was never more miserable in my life. He never spoke to me, nor answer questions I had and I’m sure he knew I was scared to death of him. Unfortunately my family support system insisted I continue based on the word of this reputable person from St. Peter’s. Let me cut this short, more than a decade later my life was ruined by this sorry excuse for a doctor. The St. Peter’s guy sent a member of his own family to Dr. LaVigne, only to find that LaVigne indeed was incompetent. That person got the right help elsewhere. I got an apology from all who kept pushing me to stay with him. It saddens me to think of how I could have gotten the right help if I… had trusted myself and left after the fist month. Be forewarned, if someone doesn’t feel right they are not right for you. Don’t listen to anyone else!

I have been seeing Dr. LaVigne for several years and I'm so thankful to have found him. With the right medication and Dr. LaVigne's endless capacity for listening, my family no longer dreads being around me, and social functions have actually become pleasant.

He has been excellent to me, very caring and I feel very comfortable with him.

Dr. Lavigne is right on track. He is always polite, reassuring, happy to be of service to you. He will tell you the situation, the result, the way to combat your problem, and follows up. ALWAYS!

I've been seeing Dr. Lavigne for about a year and a half now and I absolutely love him. He listens, knows all the right questions to ask and is very kind. i would recommend him to anyone!

I would 100% recommend Greg to any patient in need of psychiatric help. He is a genuinely good guy who cares a lot about his patients and does a great job pinpointing the problem. He is not the kind of doctor who either takes forever during the appointment nor the kind who rushes you out the door. He takes care in asking about aspects of the patient's life crucial to treat their mental health.

Great doctor. Very prompt and professional. Really takes time to know you which is evident in his dialogue with you and responses to you. Even tempered when YOU miss the appointment. I've been a patient of Dr. Lavigne's for a number of years now and he really seems to know when I ned to talk and when I need to hear. Excellent qualitities in this profession.

Dr. Gregory Lavigne worked with me, getting to know myself and understanding my feelings. He had the patience to wait for me to gain trust in him which seemed to take forever. He is inderstanding, caring and senstive to his patience's problems.Top rated in my book.
