Dr. Gregory Nieckula, DO

My overall rating of Dr. Nieckula as a physician is 5-star. If I were to include office staff and wait time and ease of appointments in the past, I may have to drop that down. But I have found Dr. Nieckula to be, for the most part, punctual, personable (if not downright happy), very knowledgeable, current on his medical and pharmaceutical facts and reasonable, making him easy to work with. During the 6 1/2 years that I have been under his care, he and I have both gone through some tough personal crises. He has not allowed his to compromise my care in any way; he has supported me in mine with understanding, kindness and compassion. Dr. Nieckula has also allowed me to have a certain amount of control over my own health care which has been very important to me. I trust him completely to tell me if I am making poor choices.

After having been a patient of Dr. John Cranwell for 35 years, I transferred to Nieckula after Dr. Cranwell moved out of state. I routinely saw Dr. Nieckula every 3 months for 5-6 years. I never encountered any issue or problem until approximately a year ago when Dr. Nieckula lied to me on several occasions. I had done nothing wrong or inappropriate, but suddenly I was facing being terminated by CHI as a patient (his own words). Of course neither CHI nor Mountain Management knew anything about this. The letter arrived informing me that he would no longer be my physician and it came from his office on his stationary and not from CHI or Mountain Management. I assume he decided he no longer wished to manage medications I had been on for 8-10 years, therefore he told several lies in order to "trick" me and accuse me of verbally abusing a staff member, which in no way happened. In 40 years, I've had 2 primary care physicians, so one can obviously see I do not doctor shop or doctor hop.… Someone that would verbally abuse a staff member would have a history of this and not do this once, out of the blue, in 40 years. There would be an established pattern. I've never verbally abuse any office staff and if I had, I would own up to it and explain why I acted the way I did. However, I was not guilty of this in no way, shape, or form. I cannot in good faith recommend him to anyone. One's doctor must be honest & ethical and he is neither. Avoid!

DR. NIECKULA IS A GREAT DOCTOR. HE LISTENS AND IS CARING. ALSO VERY EDUCATED. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had to remind the physician of a problem that is on my medical history. Had I not done that, an important procedure would have been missed. That said, he is a very personable and friendly person.
