Dr. Gregory Scott Powell, MD

We are not in a position to judge Dr. Powell's professional competence but we had an over-all unpleasant encounter with him and were left with a strongly negative impression. We found him abrupt, smug, condescending, and specious.

this was my second time with Dr Powell at the Landerbrook facility. Personally, I had no problem scheduling my appointment after leaving a voice mail message (I did receive a call back in a timely manner). Besides being a good doctor, Dr Powell has a good bedside manner (which means a lot to me) Also, I found the entire staff at the Landerbrook Facility .. kind, caring and knowledgeable which put me at ease with my procedure.

I never had a problem with Dr Powell, however, that being said, his secretary never answers the phone and takes days to return calls if ever! Very hard to schedule appt or ask a question. I will be looking for another doc because of this. Too bad because I like Dr. Powell !

I usually see Dr. YANG at this office..who was fantastic in all ways. I contacted the weekend on call answering service because I woke with severe abdominal and rt.side pain. Called 2x. NO ONE EVER RETURENED MY CALL SO... 1) I went to the ER for severe abominal pain. Had CT scan and need for a timely follow up with an GI doc. I contacted Dr. Yang's office after discharge. Unfortunately, Dr. Yang was on leave, I was referred to Dr. POWEL. Left message with his administrative asst. She called me back offering an appointment in a month and 1/2. Really had to convince his office to work me in sooner. 2) He was pleasant enough but felt I just had a stomach bug. I have many GI diagnoses so I knew better. He did look at an old colonoscopy report. Never saw a more recent one done 3.5 years ago, even tho I told him it was done. He did take time to talk to me. We decided if symptoms did not improve I.should schedule a colonoscopy. 3) Pain+ symptoms= scheduling colonoscopy. Office staff… neglected to mail prep info. I had to call and request it be emailed. 4) Waited over an hour for procedure after being prepped and with IV. This is not normal for this practice. Dr. Powel never even greeted me in procedure room. I've had 3 colonoscopies in past that were painless. His actually was quit painful. 5) He popped in very quickly after the procedure. Said things looked better than he thought and took off. 6) I have a follow up appt. with him next week to discuss next step, as I still have symptoms. I just do not know about this Dr. Found his office not that responsive. Was like pulling teeth to move things forward. Communication and follow up needs improved. Was truely astonished that the on- call doctor never responded to my initial urgent calls. I am very sorry that Peter Yang is no longer available at this office. He will be missed. Jury is out regarding Powell, but my spidery sense is telling me he seems too dismissive.

The absolute worst scheduling! Don't schedule 1-2 hour visits all 15 minutes apart and have patients wait all day!!!!! Very tacky! Waited almost 3 hours for a colonoscopy! Arrived just on time as directed only to spend my whole day waiting!

dr powell superior in bedside manner,diagnosis, treatment and follow up.

Dr. Powell is a great doctor but his secretary is horrible. She never answers calls, doesn't return calls, and when you do get lucky to reach her she is very rude. In order to keep patients happy Dr. Powell should have his secretary answer the phones and be polite or find someone else. Courtesy is a must when dealing with patients and it looks very bad when you can never reach your doctor.

It's nice going to a Dr. who actually cares and treats you like a Human. You couldn't ask for better bedside manor.
