Dr Schafer was receptive, attentive and quite helpful with his answers

I have utmost confidence in Dr. Schafer. I have been his patient for many years.

Dr. Schafer practices in a small town because no one else would take him. Two classmates of his from UNMC stated he was the class "dummy". He compensates for his incompetency by berating patients. If you want subpar care, see him. One classmate stated they wouldn't let him practice on their kid's Barbie Doll. Beware if you need a prostrate exam - he's known in medical school for not even being able to do that correctly. You know that story Dr. Schafer.

Dr. Schafer, has always been quite kind and caring to me. I have had many encounters with him and he always takes the time to understand what my needs are at that time. By the same token, if there is something that he sees or finds that I need to address to the benefit of my health he does not hesitate to tell me. This means that he does not always tell me what I want to hear, but rather what I need to hear. You cannot go wrong with this kind, kind man.

I'm surprised to see this guy is still in practice. Several years ago I went to him for a resperatory illness. I said that I previously had experienced bronchitis. He then became very rude and stated that bronchitis wasn't even a medical term. He continued with a rant and made me feel terrible. If his agenda was to not have me as a patient, it worked. I've never forgotten his disgusting, rude behavior.
