Dr. Gretchen Nicole Mccreless, MD

I would absolutely recommend Dr. McCreless and her practice! I am a new patient and everyone, from the other doctors to the nurses to the office staff, was so kind and welcoming. I appreciated the attention to detail when it came to comfort level. Her assistant welcomed me, told me the process of how the appointment would go and then the doctor came in to introduce herself before the actual exam. I found this very comforting since I was about to undress! The exam table even had a heating pad on it. After the exam I went to her office and we finished the appointment in there. I found the entire experience to be very pleasant and inviting - not typical of a doctor's office. 5 stars for an excellent experience!

Dr Mccreless, is an excellent gynecologist. I had a medical issue due to aging and she explained about hormonal changes and how it effected my body and how to handle those changes and this gave me peace of mind. She has a great disposition and is one of the best gynecologists I have been to in years (this includes the retired gynecologists who both had over 35-45 years experience). I would recommend her to all women who need a gynecologist in the Birmingham area.

I would not recommend this doctor. This practice is not the same since Dr. Hudson retired. No longer use this medical practice.

I came in for a high blood pressure med consult, my regular dr was not available and I was not aware that my prescription did not have additional refills. When medical assistant took my blood pressure reading her initial response was, this can't be right you are at stroke level. She stated something must be wrong with the machine. When I went into Dr. Mccreless office she asked what my blood pressure reading was and the assistant said I'm not sure it was right and took the reading again, it was extremely high, I don't recall everything but I do recall the top number was over 170. I asked Dr. Mccreless if I should be concerned. She advised me to find a primary health doctor to assist and added a diuretic to my prescription, with no information regarding the possible side effects of taking this medication. I left that office not knowing whether or not I truly was about to have a stroke. When I called back to the office a few days later to complain, the office manager looked at my chart… and noted that they did not even record my blood pressure reading in my chart. If you are so fearful of letting someone walk out of your office with a very high blood pressure reading that you are too ashamed to record it, you should have done more with that patient before you allowed her to walk out the door. As an African American woman, we know our medical needs are often overlooked and this certainly felt like one of those instances. The office has not called me back to address my concern.
