Dr. Guido Alberto Leon, MD

He is very courteous n professional but, his staff is rude, overworked and the wait is ridiculous, we have to wait 3-4 hours to see him for 5 minutes.

My first and only appointment, no medical records, a very brief examination and the results from a Holter monitor (which were normal) and I'm told I needed a very invasive diagnostic procedure. Most of the time he had his back to me dictating the patient information sheet that I had just filled out in the front office. When I refused the invasive procedure I was immediately scheduled for another expensive test. I discussed this with my cardiologist in another city and he was shocked. Needless to say, this doctor fleeced Medicare for $400 by dictating my notes during the visit to gain more time blocks. His nurse was extremely rude as well. I would not recommend this "doctor" to anyone.

Dr. Leon was very good, He explained everything to me and helped me with everything that I asked. The day of the proceder he was great and put me at ease. I would go to him again. I think he is great.

I had some procedures completed by Dr. Leon after a referral from my PCP. The whole experience was a challenge from beginning to end. I could not get the reports read to save my life! It was only after months (literally) of phone calls to his office as well as MMC that we were able to obtain the results of the procedures. It took along time to get in although I had heard he gets people in fairly quickly (not my experience). The wait was long in the office, the office staff was rude and would not return calls as promised. One procedure listed a prior heart attack, which was incorrect, yet even after I explained this it was not changed. There has been no follow up on one procedure with concerning results. I would recommend finding another physician.

I had an EKG and ECHO performed. I was told to wait 5-7 days for the results to be read by Dr. Leon. It is now going on over 3 weeks and still the reports have not been viewed/read. What is the hold up?

He does NOT pay attention to both American Heart Association and Mayo Clinic recommendations!

Dr Leon is an excellent doctor. His love for his profession is the only thing that would make him care about his patients the way he does. He is well worth the wait, and wait you do. The knowledge that he is caring for someone elses loved one the way I would want mine cared for; makes it worth the wait.
