Dr. Gulnar Amin Odera, MD

One of the worst cardiologists out there. Lack of understanding of patient history, arrogant and has the nerve to call patients to reschedule appointments so that she can leave early. Her “appointments” are quick summaries of lab results and scans with little to no input on future care plans. She forwards messages to the primary care physician when questions are asked about heart treatment options. She is soo inconsiderate that she told me at the appointment that she was surprised my father lived as long as he is with his current heart condition. That warranted a complaint to Kaiser on her poor behavior.

Dr Odera is the best hands down!!! She has such compassion for her patients, my father has been her patient for many years now each time he sees her I’m there to hear everything first hand, never have I felt that what was best for my dad was not her first concern. Dr Odera is easy to reach she returns emails and phone calls very quickly. I highly suggest Dr Odera to anyone who needs a Cardiologist for themselves or their family members.

Dr. Gulnar Odera was at the Kaiser Antioch ICU where my dad was admitted for pulmonary hypertension requiring high-flow oxygen. Dr. Odera was a very sorry profile in academic and medical professionalism. In between her multiple cell phones ringing incessantly, she presented us with her dour prognosis. She had little regard for the patient and family as human beings with feelings. She stood bedside as the grim reaper and stressed a likely eventuality of hospice and end-of-life palliative care. She showed no problem-solving skills, just pessimism and condescension in her explanations. My dad is home and doing well today thanks to the care of one sharp internist. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Odera or trust her advice.
