The very best doctor ever

After waiting months to see this Dr and thousands of dollars later, she refused to fill out my FLMA for a debilitating disorder. Never had that issue with the referring Dr in the past and that's before I even had this dx. She was extremely rude and arrogant. Her staff never returned ANY of my phone calls In the 6 months I went there. She doesn't mind keeping you on the schedule or billing you...just don't really be sick or need to miss work because of your sickness. After a hour trip to see her and labs done a hour before my appt, I left with no lab results, lost FMLA forms, a new issue of uncontrolled blood pressure (189/110) and the same problems I started with. Before I left she said "I have no problems not seeing you again". "Find another rheumatologist" Yes... She has great ethics!!

Very accurate diagnosis, kind and empathetic. Listens well AND recalls everything.

I know this doctor has great reviews, but I am not reviewing of how good she is although I must say I did not like her at all. My review is her bedside manners. I took my mother after having her MRI of her back. The doctor took less than 10 minutes in there with us. She did not do her a physical, she was always typing in her computer. She said her MRI showed arthritis in her lower back but that was normal for her age. I told her back pain was not lumbar it was in her middle back she then replied: well they did not took images of her MIDDLE BACK only Lower back. I told her my mom has pain everywhere and if she could send some lab work to make sure she does not have fibromyalgia or Lupus because her sister has lupus. She said no. Then I asked her if she could send and MRI of her middle back and she said no. She said she had to go to therapies of her back and if she did not get better she would have to go to the spine specialist. I told her my mom was in a lot of pain and could hardly… work anymore. She replied she does not have arthritis or Lupus or any of those things. Then I almost had to get her out of her chair to show that my mothers hands , she has had hand surgery because of arthritis and then I showed her knees. She then said: ok she might have some little bit of arthritis. She has this attitude I did not like at all. Not friendly at all. When I came back home I called my aunt the one that has Lupus and told her about our appointment. She asked me if this doctor had checked the spots the rheumatologists check to know if someone has arthritis and I said no. She said " honey change your doctor.

I was having so much pain in my knee that I could hardly walk. I made an appointment with Dr. Merchant to see what could be done to help relieve the pain in my knee. I explained to Dr. merchant that I was really afraid to be there, that I was told that if I had to have a shot in my knee that it would hurt real bad. She was very kind, and understanding with me. I did end up having to have a shot in my knee, but the shot did not hurt, and the shot did take the pain away. Six months later I am still pain free in that knee. I believe that her kindness about me being afraid, taking time to talk with me, and her explaining to me what was wrong with my knee really helped me feel better. I really love this doctor.

Dr. Merchant treats me for Fibromyalgia.

Good doctor. She sometimes runs behind in appointment times, but she is willing to spend time with you if necessary. Seems to be a good diagnostician.

Cares about her patients...does not try to make them fit into a box, but treats them as individuals!

One awesome physician. Saved my husband's life. Great doctor both her and her husband A. Merchant.
