Dr. Gunjan P Shah, MD

Was referred specifically to have biopsies done during a colonoscopy, he said he "would do everything he could" to help me figure out my problem. After awaking in the recovery room he informs me he didn't take any biopsies and his medical advice was to take anti diarrhea medicine with fiber supplement. Now I have do spend my own money and go through this again with a real doctor to actually get a diagnosis. This doctor could not care less about his patients...

Horrible doctor! Had a colonoscopy done by him and not only did he misdiagnose me he also perforated my bowels. As soon as I was discharged I was deathly ill and called him numerous times to call me back asap. It took him over a day and a half to call me back. He said there is nothing he can do so I need to go to another hospital. I immediately went to U of M emergency and within an hour I was having emergency surgery. The dr's said I was very lucky I got there when I did because I was in really bad shape. I spent over a month at U of M and they took great care of me. Thank God! Also, his bedside manner is terrible! I asked to speak to him before my colonoscopy and he met with me for 2 minutes right before surgery. He seemed annoyed and was late and wanted to get me in and out. He changed my life for the worse! He should not have a license to practice medicine.

Dr gunjan Shah has no respect for people and he is just as uncaring as his wife Dipti Shah, who recommended me to him. Also they don't seem to understand the culture of Americans. Very frustrating, they are not worth the headache and I eventually went on to find a new dr.

By far on of the most inconsiderate "doctor" I've ever met. After my mother was in the ER a different doctor scheduled her to have her gull bladder removed. Shaw cancelled the surgery to do a MRCP, which he then cancelled 3 times that day, not once did we ever meet him. The nurses paged him over 5 times that day. Finally at 9pm, he called us to then say they pushed her procedure back again from in the morning to later in the afternoon. Only explanation we got as to why he never showed up, was that he forgot. So today my mom finally had her procedure, Shaw never came in to meet us or explain the procedure, never came in afterwards either. We then later found out that she still needs to have her gull bladder removed, which we demanded a different doctor perform. No way in heck do I want him putting my mom under if he forgets to meet us & torture her (not being able to eat or drink, & live in such terrible pain). Please do not use this thoughtless D as your doctor as he does not care

Four minute follow up that started with "why are you here?" Still don't have an answer after four months, three visits, and several thousand in tests. He doesn't seem bothered. At all.

Dr. Shah is very thorough and caring. He listens to everything you say. Making you feel like his number one patient. Kind and compassionate.
