Summary
Breast Imaging -- Originally from Sweden, Dr. Cederbom graduated from the University of Gothenburg where he also completed residency and was later on staff in the Department of Radiology. After special training in breast imaging procedures, Dr. Cederbom joined the Department of Radiology at LSU in Shreveport where he developed the Breast Imaging Department, including the first stereotactic biopsy program in Louisiana. Dr. Cederbom joined the Ochsner Radiology Department in 1992 and began the core biopsy program. He has trained numerous residents in the subspecialty of breast imaging, some of whom are now employed as breast imagers at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. Dr. Cederbom has also been an active medical researcher and was a principal investigator in the trials of the R2 computer-assisted detection system, now used routinely at Ochsner.
