Dr. Jawanda pursued a career in medicine because of the meaningful relationships he is able to build with patients and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on their lives. He chose orthopedic surgery because he believes movement is essential to living a healthy, fulfilling life. Growing up, he enjoyed working with his hands and participated in multiple team sports, making orthopedics a natural fit. The specialty allows him to combine technical skill with compassionate care to help patients restore mobility and return to the activities they enjoy.Dr. Jawanda credits his parents and the physicians who mentored him as major influences in his life and career. His parents instilled the values of hard work, perseverance and self-belief from an early age. His mentors challenged and inspired him to continually strive for excellence in caring for every patient.What motivates Dr. Jawanda each day is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, collaborate with a …dedicated healthcare team and, of course, a chance to enjoy a good cup of coffee along the way. His clinical interests include total joint arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty and the treatment of painful joints.Outside of work, Dr. Jawanda enjoys providing medical coverage for high school sports and other athletic events. He also stays active through weightlifting, running, hiking, golfing and skiing. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, woodworking, and home renovation projects.Movement is the key to life, and being an orthopedic surgeon gives me the opportunity to help patients restore that movement and make the most out of their life. Everyone's goals are different, whether that's getting back on the field, running after grandchildren, or simply living life without debilitating pain.
