Dr. Vlahakes did a five way heart by-pass on my husband 20 years ago and he is still doing very well. He recently had a heart cath and four of the five by-passes are still clear and functioning fully. Thank you for giving me so much time with my husband. Fantastic Doctor and great care.

Dr. Vlahake replaced my aortic valve ten years ago this week and I have been trouble free, enjoying all you could hope to enjoy. I hope life is treating him as well as he treated me.

Superb, exemplary, kind, brilliant, talented, outstanding, extremely professional doctor! All other cardiologists and surgeons should follow in his footsteps. His staff is wonderful and helpful, and he is so prompt in returning phone calls.... The younger generation of doctors should take a lesson from him.

Gus Vlahakes is the best caring physician one could wish for. He replaced my aortic valve and gave me an aortic graft and aortic appendage amputation . I had so much confidence in him that I knew I was in the best hands available. This was also pain free which still amazes me! I am so thankful for him and Dr Kathleen Kennedy of Hartford , CT for all that they have done for me.

I had been sick for several months, my heart valve was calcified and leaking badly. Dr. Gus Vlahakes, along with his team, gave me my life back. They performed open heart surgery and replaced my heart valve. In addition, they found and fixed other problems that my previous doctors had missed. He and his team visited me every day and kept my wife and I appraised of the details along with a plan for my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Vlahakes for his skills and his bedside manor. I thank him, for saving my life.

I don't think that I could have asked for a better doctor. Dr. Vlahakes was excellent. He did a great job with my mitral valve replacement. If you call him after hours he returns the call within 10 minutes, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a great thoracic surgeon. Anyone would be lucky to have him for a doctor !!
