Dr. Gustavo Ferrer is the doctor that other doctors go to when they cannot figure out a medical mystery. His compassion and true concern for his patients are like none other. Because of him, my father lived many years beyond what anyone expected. I am forever grateful.

I flew from Cleveland, Ohio to see Dr. Ferrer in Weston, Florida this past week because he is an expert in cough, and has written an excellent book called "Cough Cures." I had to wait an hour to see him because he was called away on an emergency. The wait was very worthwhile. Dr. Ferrer is a warm, kind human being who spent over an hour getting to know me and my history of chronic cough. He is incredibly knowledgeable about this complex problem, with which I have struggled for 20 years. I believe he correctly diagnosed the source of my cough (nasal inflammation and post-nasal drip) and prescribed an easy regimen of nasal sprays and a breathing exercise to follow for one month and then be in touch with him about how I am doing. Of all of the many physicians I have seen seeking a cure for my cough, he is the best! I highly recommend him!

I'm a bit apprehensive to release this Medical Review of Dr. Ferrer. Too many new patients may lure to him in droves and I would have less time for my one-on-one with him.....'Na, that's not who he is, that's not the care he delivers. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ferrer while he was one of the pulmonologists at the Cleveland Clinic. My husband and I immediately felt a feeling of trust. He demonstrates his knowledge with compassion and kindness. I am 66 years old and have had good and bad medical experiences. I can truly say that Dr. Ferrer is an anomaly. My husband has had many medical emergencies over the last 4 years since our meeting. Dr. Ferrer has been there by our side every step of the way nursing him back to good health. I have been told by other Doctors that his care has kept my husband alive. There are no words to express thanks to a man that has played such an important part of our lives. He is truly a gift that keeps on giving!!

It was a miracle for me to find a pulmonologist is South Florida who specialized in chronic cough. He was able to finally give me an accurate diagnosis after 15 years and put me on an effective treatment plan. He is up to date on the latest research and treatments in the US and Europe. He is a warm caring individual who takes his time with his patients. His office staff is professional, courteous but most of all kind and nice like Dr.Gus Ferrer!!!!.

Over the course of this year, 2012, the quality of care I have received from Dr. Ferrer and Darlene has been exemplary! It has been a difficult time for me and my family having been diagnosed with a terminal lung disease (IPF). I have relied and trust Dr. Ferrer professional opinion. He is one of those rare doctors that find a balance between technical expertise and a genuine sence of caring. Darlene complinents the care delivered by being professional, attentive, and responsive to patient needs. I live in WPB and would follow them anywhere! I am very satisfied with the care I and my family receive from them.
