Dr. Gamero received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Peru, South America in 1981. He came to the United States in 1986 to obtain multiple sub-specialty training at the University of Texas and Duke University. Dr. Gamero later received a second residency in ophthalmology at the Catholic Medical Center in New York City. He went on to complete an 18 month fellowship in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma at the University of Louisville, where he stayed as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology for five years. Dr. Gamero then moved to Florida serving as Assistant Professor and Director of the Glaucoma Service, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville, before joining St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Insititute.

Dr Gamero is a very good provider, I have no complaints about my visits with him- except for wait times.

Already have referred someone. The quality time and not being rushed was great. Took time to explain everything . Made sure I understood and didn't have any questions. Left there feeling that they Dr and Karen had done and explained more than any Drs ever have.?

Dr. Gamero was highly professional and took time to answer all questions thoroughly. He was thoughtful and provided insights into the current condition. He discussed all treatment options, and enlisted my input into the treatment option chosen.

Dr. Gamero and his Assistant Dana were very warm, professional and communicated my eye condition in terms that I understand. I have had extensive issues and surgeries with my eyes and was concerned moving to Florida. Dr. Gamero came highly recommended and my concerns are no longer.
