Had two surgical procedures the first one in 2017 for NPH and he did a VA shunt. I was in a wheelchair when I went in for the procedure and was ambulatory and able to walk out after the procedure. I have had a revision to a VP shunt since then and continue to followup with this doctor that is not only an expert in dealing with this procedure but knowledgable and able to explain this in ways I can understand. Dr McKhaan is an excellent and, an extremely knowledgeable surgeon, but not only! He is also a caring, humble and very kind person. We have nothing but praise for the compassionate care Dr McKhann provides to his patients, based on the way he has dealt with our family while our brother was in an induced coma because of post-operation complications following successful surgery to remove a brain tumour. He was very responsive to our questions, explaining the evolving situation clearly and with honesty, and he engenders trust because of his expertise and calm manner. Dr. McKhann made an appointment with a patient but did'not show up for the "post operative" appointment and didn't call ahead to alert the patient that he would not show up. Very disappointing and surprising.
