Dr. Guy S Strauss, DO

I went to an urgent care center for what I thought was a cold. They gave me some cough medicine and sent me on my way. I really felt bad and my wife insisted I see her doc, Dr Strauss. He got me right in, and after examining me, he told me he was sure I had pneumonia. He was able to do labs and an X-ray right in his office, which confirmed the diagnosis. He was able to give me IV fluids and antibiotics, also right in the office. I was brought back for several days in a row, and had a complete recovery. Thanks for getting it right and saving me the cost and aggravation of the emergency room and a hospital admission.

I came to Dr Strauss with a severe heart issue called non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, which causes congestive heart failure, which is a severe fluid build up in the lungs, caused by a poorly functioning heart. I had been to see a cardiologist who had me on several medicines for it and told me I needed to get a permanent defibrillator put in. I went to Dr Strauss for a second opinion. He told me he would have me wear a temporary defibrillator, and that if he maximized my meds enough, I made not need the permanent one. He adjusted my meds and put me on a new one. He saw me every 1-2 weeks. Not only did I not need the permanent procedure, but I felt better than ever. Thank you!!!

Dr Strauss and his nurse practitioner, Bryce, have kept my mom alive for many years now. She is very complicated with a lot going on, including chronic heart failure, emphysema, diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis. Through their expert tweaking of her multiple medications, she has really done well. They are always willing to work her in to their schedule and get her in the same day with any new problems. They have bailed her out from other specialists mistakes many times. Thanks for giving my family many extra years with my mom!

I had been seeing an endocrinologist for the past 5 years, and despite several medication changes, including the addition of insulin, my diabetes remained under poor control with my A1C at 7.8 (desirable is under 7). I went to see Dr Strauss, and he got me on a combination of 2 oral meds and a once a week shot. I was able to get off my insulin and I lost over 30 pounds! My A1c is now 6.3! Thank you - I wish I had found you 5 years ago! I've also seen his nurse practitioner, Jordan, as well. She's also very thorough and knowledgeable. The whole office is great!

My husband went to see Dr Strauss for the first time a few months ago. Thank God!! He literally saved my husband's life! My previous doctor found an anemia and told him to take some vitamins and left it at that. When Dr Strauss reviewed the records, he told us something else was going on and that some further tests would be needed. He ordered the tests and quickly diagnosed him with multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. He got us in to see a top cancer specialist right away and we were told that if we hadn't started treatment I would have been a widow. The staff and nurses at the office are the best! We are moving an hour away soon, but we will be making the trip to keep Dr Strauss our doctor. Once you find the best, you don't want to go anywhere else!

I went to Dr Strauss as a new patient for follow up on my high blood pressure. He immediately noticed a had a heart murmur. He told me this was a very unusual murmur to have at my age (45). He told me that it was a Patent Ductus Arteriosus, which is a communication between 2 large blood vessels that come off the heart, that is open before you are born, but then seals soon after you are born. He said he hadn't heard one since he was an intern, but was sure that's what it was. He ordered an echocardiogram, which did confirm this and he sent to a cardiologist and got it fixed. The cardiologist said this was the diagnosis of the year and that Dr Strauss saved my life by finding it. Wow! I had been seeing doctors for years, and Dr Strauss was the first to find this! He is a REAL doctor!

My mother saw this doctor for several years. I personally felt he was not addressing some of her health concerns. He was very arrogant and set in his ways. He does not think outside the box. His pride is more important than his patient's best interest.

Ordered an MRI and even though a lesion was found on my husband's BRAIN, no follow up visit with results. We found out because TWO years later, we ordered my husband's record for another doctor. That is unacceptable.

Dr. Strauss' office personnel and nurse practioners are excellent. They are very thorough and will take the time to answer any questions. The wait time is way too long though. Even with an early morning appointment I have found myself waiting 45 minutes or longer. I like the fact that everything can be done in one building- x-rays, blood work, mammograms, etc. If they could work on getting to their appointments in a more timely manner, I would rate them as number one.
