The Dr avoided me when post sugery problems arose which she had not prepared me for. She would not acknowledge that the procedure has caused me profound life detrimental changes. I would seriously consider her as a trustworthy professional. A consensus of some of her peers is that she had a believe she was chosen for her profession not her choosing it. Caution.

She is awesome! I went to several different urologists before seeing her and was disapppointed with the others in many ways. I had been misdiagnosed years ago by another urologist in an area Dr. Roesel specializes in. She assured me I did not have what the other doctor said. Also, I'd had kidney stones removed before by a group of urologist in Cincinnati area and was disappointed at their work. They were going to have me keep coming back time and again to blast stones in both kidneys. They also used splints which fell out the next day after having stones blasted. Talk about pain!!! But Dr. Roesel said none of that was necessary and she could take care of my stones in one visit and she doesn't use stints. I was hesitant after what I'd been through before. She was great and this time the stones were taken care of in one visit. It was much less painful and easy recovery. She has an excellent bedside manner, has a good sense of humor, makes you feel comfortable, is easy to talk to and… takes time to answer all your questions. She uses props to show you what's going on in your body and how her procedures work. Don't let her five years of experience as a urologist scare you off. She's the best. She has been a doctor for a long time, she just wasn't a urologist all that time. You won't find a more caring staff. They are a small office, not in with a group of other doctors. It's easy to get an appointment and her staff or herself will call to check on you. She is a hands-on caring doctor, even at the hospital before a procedure. She doesn't just show up in the surgery room and then gone. You can't go wrong with her. I highly recommend her. My husband sees her too and she's been great to him also and very helpful. I could go on and one with all she's done to help us get answers, but this space probably won't allow for it. We did get a recent letter that she is now only seeing patients on Wednesdays. I don't know why. I haven't called to see. She moved her office from Red Bank road to Montgomery Rd near Bethesda North,as of Oct. 2012.

Dr. Gwen C Roesel is a great doctor. She's got a good sense of humor and her waiting room is comfy and cozy. Her staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond to help a patient. She has just a few employees, and when we call her office, we get to talk to a person and get answers right away. She truly cares about her patients and is a good listener with good bedside manners. She was the second urologist to do surgery on me for kidney stones and she took care of all of them at once, no stint needed, she said they aren't necessary and she was right. My first surgery for kidney stones went bad when the stints fell out overnight into my bladder. She said she doesn't use stints and she didn't use them on me and the surgery she did was much easier on me and took less time to heal. That was totally opposite of what a couple of other urologists had me do for my multiple stones. They wanted me to keep coming back for surgery one stone at a time, and she didn't see why they would even… suggest that when the laser would blast them all at once. She is easy to get hold of if you need her and always willing to help. She is in practice alone and that makes her more accessible to patients and she knows her patients by name. I cannot say enough good about her or her staff. thumbs up!!!

i wish i could give dr. roesel even more stars. I am not a very brave patient, but dr. roesel made me feel relaxed. she does not judge patients for feeling nervous or worried. she obviously takes each person as an individual and tailors a treatment plan that is practical and acceptable, thus increasing the chance of full cooperation and success. i have never been to a more compassionate doctor with such a reasonable philosophy. she is wonderful

Fifteen years ago I had to see a urologist and since there were no female urologists in Cincinnati, I saw a man. It was such a traumatic and painful experience that I refused to see a urologist again. I changed primary care physician, and my current doc finally insisted that I see Dr. Roesel. I've had UTI symptoms that never showed infection for years. (15 years). It took a year before I was willing to see Dr. Roesel. Dr. Roesel's office was kind, caring and compassionate from the moment I called. When I called for the appointment, my past experience came spilling out from me. The receptionist Listened. That moment was a foreshadowing of the most caring Doctor's visit I've ever experienced. The exam I needed was painful, but Dr. Roesel prepared me, explained the necessity, talked me through it and even gave me a soft blankee to hold.

Dr. Roesel is caring,compassionate and spends lots of time with patients. I have a condition that is painful and difficult to treat. I live with pain often. She treated me with the upmost respect, although there are not a lot of options for me and she makes little money from my disease. I have previously been treated with disrespect. She is a breath of fresh air. Also, she has a great sense of humor and is overall a thinking, concerned individual. Her techniques and use of medical equipment are superb.If you must be poked in private places, this is the person to see!
