Dr. Gyan C Surana, MD

Dr. Surana is more concerned with making money and his own liability than with helping his patients. He will charge for unneeded tests but when a problem is brought to him, Dr. Surana has no answers, no help.

I have been a patient of his as well as many members of my family for years. I have found Dr. Surana to be very attentive to all of my healthcare needs.

I am a patient with Dr. Surana because he has many years of experience, his office is close by, and his nurse (Sherri) demonstrates such a wonderful bedside manner. However, the doctor has very strong views about healthcare and can be very argumentative. He has told me that if I do not follow all of his advice, then I do not want him to be my doctor. I also have a problem that he will set up appointments for me without my consent and then get mad when I cancel them. I find this behavior to be unethical.

I have been a patient of Dr. Surana for many years. I have always felt like cared and paid special attention to my needs. He his a very detailed oriented doctor. I would refer him to my family and friends. Chantal B.

I have been seeing Dr. Surana for about 10 years. He is very thorough and spends quite a bit of time with each patient. Yes there is always a wait time of 30-60 mins but I don't mind, considering he goes above and beyond discussing my care. Sherry his nurse is phenomal.... she is so sweet! My husband and my 2 sons see him as well.

Appointments time mean nothing. Be prepared to spend 30-60 minutes after your appointment before being seen. Really pushy when it comes to cholesterol medicine. Doesn't seem to care about painful side effects of these medications just offers another medication to ward off side effects (which also have additional side effects). After switching doctors I was told that my cholesterol wasn't high enough to warrant taking these medications. Would much rather work with a physican who isn't so pushy would the meds.

He treated, or rather, mistreated my mother-in-law as a hospitalist at Calvert Memorial Hospital. He is demeaning and derogatory toward all women and only responds to male relatives. A formal complaint has been filed against him at CMH, where it has come to light that he has issues with women. This was reported to us by the nursing staff and the administrative staff. Stay very far away from him

Always a short wait. Dr Sunana provides clear advice & diagnostics. Relies on blood work results and usually an EKG at office.

Have been seeing Dr. Surana for about 3 1/2 years since moving to the area. I recommend him to all my friends and family. You couldn't find a better doctor.
